Career Connection with Ms.

Ahna Levasseur

On Sunday April 18th, 2021, I interviewed Ms. Ahna Levasseur about her job as a Mod Pizza

worker. When asked how she incorporates STEM into her daily activities she stated, “I use

science when using the oven because I know that heat causes the pizza to cook”. She later stated

that she uses technology when setting the temperatures, using cutlery, and operating the phones.

When asked about engineering Ahna stated, “Engineering is used when I place the toppings on

each pizza and I form the dough”. Her method of shaping the pizza follows the restaurant's

protocol and engineering techniques. Lastly, she stated mathematics is used when operating the

register. She stated, “I use math to determine the change for an individual’s payment”. She does

simple mathematics in her head to give the correct change.
