Nature of Language

 Language is made up of symbols that humans use to communicate which each other. The
symbols of language are spoken or written. In using symbols of language, there are some
rules. The rules to guide symbols are:

1. Semantic Rules : Meaning of rules

2. Pragmatic Rules : Using words based on context
3. Phonemic Rules : How words should sound when spoken

 Others Factors in Language Use

1. Meaning of words are in individual people not in words

2. Language is powerful
3. Language can shape how people view situation
4. Words can be aligned with feminine or masculine behaviors
5. People judge each other on how they use language
