Speaking Seminar discussions (6) hen discussing a text in a seminar, you will often be asked to give your opinion, and ‘to support it using information from the text. You may also need to check that you have ‘understood another speaker, and that they have understood you. Itis also useful to refer ‘to what other people say and not just give your opinion in isolation, This module covers: ‘© Using a text to support an opinion © Using language for managing a discussion © Referring to other people's ideas TASK 1 Previewing the topic of a seminar 1. Work in pairs and discuss what fechnological innovation means for a company. ‘Think about: | why companies need to be aware of innovation in their field bb the opportunities and threats created by innovation. 2 Compare your answers with another student.
