 What is Emergency Management?
- the systematized process of
> preparing
> mitigating
> responding
> recovering
 Four Main Steps:
1. Establish a Planning Team
2. Analyze Capabilities and Hazards
3. Develop the Plan
4. Implement the Plan
 Step 1: Establish Planning Team
1. Forming the Team
> involves all functional areas:
- Support Services
- Communication
- Emergency Response
- Community

2. Establish Authority, Schedule and Budget

> commission the team
> prepared logistics
> issue a mission statement
 Step 2: Analyze Capabilities /Hazards
1. Gather information about current capabilities
> identifies code and regulations
> identify critical services and operations
> identify internal and external resources
> meet with outside groups

2. Conduct a Vulnerability Analysis

> conduct risk assessment
> conduct cost benefit analysis
 Step 3: Develop the Plan
1. Create a written policies and procedures
2. Staff awareness
2. Corporate Communications
3. Evacuation Procedure
4. Disaster Recovery and Restoration
5. Review and revision of plans
 Step 4: Implementation
1. Integrate Plan into Company Operations
2. Conduct Trainings and Drills

Note: Policies and Procedures shall be review annually by

Emergency Response Team (ERT) or as deemed necessary
 Incident Command System
 Incident Commander
 Command Post
 Communications –Notification
 Communications – Alarm
 Evacuation Procedures
 Records Preservation

Then,

11 + 14 + 15 + 23 + 12 + 5 + 4 + 7 + 5 = 96%

H+A+R +D+W+ O+ R +K
8 + 1 + 18 + 4 + 23 + 15 + 18 + 11 = 98%

Both are important, but the total falls just short of 100%
But,

1 + 20 + 20 + 9 + 20 + 21 + 4 + 5 = 100%
