CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply –

Level 4

The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) offers professional tailored and
open programmes designed to meet with the exacting demands of the procurement
profession.

The New Diploma in Procurement and Supply – Level 4 – is ideal for those who have
previous business experience or qualifications in procurement and supply chain, and for
those who are looking to progress into management.

This CIPS qualification aims to give individuals insight into best practices, improve efficiency
and effectiveness, make effective use of information, and develop their decision-making
skills. The CIPS Diploma, together with the 'Advanced' and 'Professional' courses is the most
common route to reach full membership status – MCIPS.

Overview

CIPS works closely with global industry partners in procurement and supply chain
management, to develop professional qualifications that train buyers in current and emerging
best practices.

The new CIPS Diploma training course consists of the following five units:

 CIPS Unit D1 - Contexts of Procurement and Supply


 CIPS Unit D2 - Business Needs in Procurement and Supply
 CIPS Unit D3 - Sourcing in Procurement and Supply
 CIPS Unit D4 - Negotiating and Contracting in Procurement and Supply
 CIPS Unit D5 - Managing Contracts and Relationships in Procurement and Supply

Equivalent to first year degree or HNC, NVQ Level 4.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate, or CIPS Level 3 Certificate in


Procurement and supply operations, or the CIPS International Certificate.

Alternatively, 2 years’ relevant work experience OR two A-level qualifications
