Activity 2

CLASSWORK: p. 230

13. There will be no test in mathematics tomorrow.

14. I have no extra money.
15. The sum of two odd numbers is not both even numbers.
16. A right angle do not measures 90 degrees.
17. Converse: If the sum of x and 2 is 5, then the value of x is 3.
18. Inverse: If the value of x is not 3, then the sum of x and 2 is not 5.
19. Contrapositive: If the sum of x and 2 is not 5, then the value of x is not 3.
20. Biconditional: The sum of x and 2 is 5, if and only if the value of x is 3.
Activity 3

1. A right angle measures 90 degrees.

If-then: If an angle is a right angle, then it measures 90 degrees.

Hypothesis: An angle is a right angle.

Conclusion: It measures 90 degrees.

Converse: If an angle measures 90 degrees, then it is a right angle.

Inverse: If an angle is not a right angle, then it does not measure 90 degrees.

Contrapositive: If an angle does not measure 90 degrees, then it is not a right angle.

2. Two angles are called supplementary when their measures add up to 180 degrees.

If-then: If the sum of two angles measures 180 degrees, then they are supplementary.

Hypothesis: The sum of two angles is 180 degrees.

Conclusion: The two angles are supplementary.

Converse: If two angles are supplementary, then they measures 180 degrees.

Inverse: If two angles do not measure 180 degrees, then they are not supplementary angles.

Contrapositive: If two angles are not supplementary, then they do not measure 180 degrees.

3. x +12 = 20; then x = 8

If-then: If the sum of x and 12 is 20, then the value of x is 8.

Hypothesis: The sum of x and 12 is 20.

Conclusion: The value of x is 8.

Converse: If the value of x is 8, then the sum of x and 12 is 20.

Inverse: If the sum of x and 12 is not 20, then the value of x is not 8.

Contrapositive: If the value of x is not 8, then the sum of x and 12 is not 20.
