INTRODUCTION
Data communications refers to the transmission of this digital data between two or
more devices and a device network or data network is a telecommunications network
that allows device to exchange data. The best-known device network is the Internet.
Device networks are mainly dealing with the singles node transmission across different
geographies whereas Data communication deals with the transmission of data through
multiple nodes and through different mediums.
Data communication have 5 components these are Message, Sender, Receiver,
Transmission Medium and protocol and a network connect computers, mobile phones,
peripherals, and even IoT devices. Switches, routers, and wireless access points are
the essential networking basics. Through them, devices connected to your network
can communicate with one another and with other networks,
Moreover, the data communication and networking means sender send massages
throw transmissions medium with protocol to receiver by the network system like LAN
(Local Area Network), PAN (Personal Area Network), MAN (Metropolitan Area
Network), WAN (Wide Area Network).\
Grameenphone , Banglalink , Robi, Teletalk and the popular telecommunication
organizations in Bangladesh. At the end of January 2019, the total number of mobile
phone subscribers had reached 1157.5 44 million. Among them 73,068 people use
Grameenphone, Banglalink has 33,690 million, Robi Axiata has 46,900 million and
Teletalk has 3.885 million users
However, Grameenphone telecommunication company use data communication and
networking system to run their business smoothly. They serve all their customers and
employee by the data communication and network throw computer devices, mobile
devices and inter network.

HOW TO USE GRAMEENPHONE DATA


COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKING
In Bangladesh, the Internet movement led by Grameenphone made access to
knowledge simpler. Grameenphone uses the EDGE technology to include packages
on the Internet. Corporate business requires a stable, reliable, and faster portal to
access its own network. To maintain data protection, corporate data cannot move over
the internet.

Grameenphone introduced GPConnect service to allow access to corporate network
using Dedicated APN (Access Point Name). Grameenphone offer secure connectivity
over GSM network through GPConnect service. SIM cards send data to corporate
server using APN. Data send from SIM cards are channel to corporate server. Fiber
optic cable is required to channel data from GP switch site to corporate server.
INTERNET NETWORK: GP Connect provides dedicated APN for the confidential and
exclusive use of data. It provides robust auto redundancy networking to create an ideal
Machine to Machine (M2 M) networks such as – POS networks, ATM, Energy
metering, Surveillance and Monitoring. Point of Sales (POS) network is commonly
used for transaction based on the safe and credit card. POS terminal connect through
dedicated APN configured in SIM. Fixed IP scheme is used for unique addressing.
IPsec protocol transmits data to enterprise customer server. This ensures end to end
security for EDGE user. Thus from POS terminal to corporate data center, data will
travel with safety and security.
SOCIAL MARKETING STRATEGY: The Grameenphone company develop the
current strategies in context with the present digital marketing scenario of the country.
The launch of GP Music App was one of the projects that I was directly appointed.
Working on different projects headed by different managers gave me the chance to
see how different people get work done differently yet in an effective manner.
Ecommerce, Ekhanei.com is a former service (also known as CellBaazar) to enable
users sell or buy products through mobile or internet. It was free to use for all
Grameenphone customers. Various other services like stock information, Instant
Messaging, SMS Based Alerts/Services, Voice-based Services, Downloads, music,
Cricket Updates, Web SMS, Mobile Backup etc.
Using data communication and network system Grameenphone introduced its own
ecommerce app Shoparu, connecting millions of its subscribers to the digital
marketplace. The service offers door-to-door delivery service to all areas of
Bangladesh, including deep rural areas. Feature phone users may visit any one of the
host of Grameenphone Express Centers to order their goods online and receive home
delivery. By this apps Grameenphone store data in their cloud store and serve the
information to customers throw internet network
However, launch GP Music app and serve ecommerce services to improve data
communication and network system for give better services to the customer
DIGITAL STORE: Grameenphone on Sunday launched the first ever one-stop SaaS
(Software-as-a-service) platform in Bangladesh.
The leading mobile telecommunications operator in the country has opened this online
marketplace styled Cloud Store with an aim to offering a wide range of software
applications and services to its enterprise client base. Cloud Store will be a single
platform that will automate all the processes associated with selling and delivering
various software applications and services and their lifecycle management, including

but not limited to aggregation, cataloguing, provisioning, access control, security,
auditing, monitoring, reporting, metering, billing, administrating, and user support.

ENTERTAINMENT: Grameenphone company use data communication and network to


launch some entertainment software such as Bioscope, an on-demand video
streaming service, was launched in 2016 streaming movies, dramas and live TV
broadcasting. GP Music, on-demand music streaming service.

MYGP APP: In 2017, Grameenphone introduced the very first customer care app that
allowed subscribers, through an embedded platform titled Flexiload, to design their
own packages based on their personal need for voice minutes, data volumes, text
messaging. This app also allowed them to avail personalized discounts. The MyGP
app opened up greater transparency for customers who could monitor their usage in
real time. Since its launch, MyGP has grown to include several other GP apps such as
Bioscope and Shoparu, as well as third party ride sharing apps like Uber and Shohoz.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: To improve their data communication and network system


Grameenphone could do some social works like
Child Online Safety: This comprehensive program has been created to raise
awareness about online safety for children and also sensitize parents, teachers and
guardians. Till date, with partners like BRAC and then UNICEF, Grameenphone has
reached out to over 4.5 million school children and 1 million parents, teachers and
guardians all across Bangladesh. The Child Helpline 1069 was also incorporated into
the program, with support from UNICEF, to provide support to child related issues.
Supply Chain Sustainability: Grameenphone is vigilant about ensuring responsible
business conduct across its entire supply chain. GP's Supply Conduct Principles
(SCP) are based on internationally recognized standards around human rights, health
and safety, labour rights, environment and anti-corruption. It is mandatory for all
Grameenphone contracting parties to agree to and comply with these principles.
Grameenphone conducts annual supply chain capacity building through on-site
briefings, awareness sessions, workshops, forums, process support, online portals
and resource guides to ensure our suppliers and sub-suppliers follow the same
continuous improvement process.
Book Reading Program: Grameenphone is committed to SDG#10 by leveraging its
connectivity to reduce inequalities through scalable and sustainable initiatives. "Alor
Pathshala" (www.alorpathshala.org) is the first online book reading program launched
by Bishwo Shahitto Kendro (BSK) and Grameenphone on 19 March 2014.
Grameenphone has been supporting BSK's annual book reading program since 2004.
Support for distressed people: Grameenphone extends support for distressed people
as and when required, including the Rana Plaza collapse, Nepal earthquake, victims of
cold wave.

CONCLUSION:
Grameenphone is the largest mobile telecommunication services provider in
Bangladesh. Grameenphone has begun its operations in 1997 and now provides
voice, data, and other value-added services on prepaid and contract bases.
Grameenphone was a pioneer in bringing forward innovative mobile technologies to
Bangladesh. Notable among these are Healthline, a 24- hour medical call centre
manned by licensed physicians, GPay, used for electronic purchases of train and
lottery tickets, and Billpay, used for paying utility bills via mobile phones. GPay also
allows mobile-to-mobile fund transfers with certain handsets. Grameenphone did a
great job using the network and data communication system. The massive
improvement of Grameenphone company done by the internet. The data
communication also allows the Grammenphone business to support its internal
information, employees use lot of software to store data, communicate with each other,
provide customer service, all this is made simple by data communication and network
system.
