Answer:
The global pandemic has brought catastrophic impacts for the strangulating
economics of global South. But the interesting fact that needs to be brought under
limelight is that the so-called benevolent hegemon US seems helpless just like the
other third world countries.
Thus, the system that consumes their energies never owns them. The
clutches of capitalism are so widespread that no one can even think of
escaping it. The ferocious nature of capitalists and the barbaric mode of
earning prevails in a dichotomy in the capitalist economies.
The stories of employees even from the different industries has made it quite
clear that it's not actually the owners that are guilty but it's the system that
has been structured by some corporate elites in such a manner that is legally
bound and coerce the proletariats to spend their lives on others command.
The free will that was promised by Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and
the actual father of modern capitalism Adam Smith has been vanished from
our social fabric. Thus, the person who is to be blamed for the crisis at
Smithfield is the capitalist who is instrumentalizing the reason/rationally of
the minds of workers; making them work hard in such harsh conditions or
else they have been told loud and clear that they may die of hunger if not by
the notorious COVID-19.
