The opportunity of many routes

because of your roots
and the routes of a mother
and the routes of a father
lead to
Which is the best route to take?

When a Chosen route

leads to flourishing
the soul, and two feet
Solidly grounded
send down their roots
And they tunnel
deep into the soil
Into the earth
Into the world
Into your route
Push off
headed for greatness

but when your roots

dont lead you to opportune routes
because the route of a mother
and the route of a father
Root their seeds in a roundabout life
locked away from their routes
locked away from the world
locked away from greatness

And
When a Given route
leads to darkness
The soul, and two feet
are floundering
drowning
gasping for air
Looking for a place to drop their roots
and connect with the cold concrete
Floor of a prison
or sidewalk street
Push off
headed for isolation

For lives
with roots intwined with routes
how to escape this torturous cyclic route
if there continues to be nowhere to drop your roots?
