Professional Development Plan
My specific Goals
Short term goals (0-12 months)
My immediate goals are to continue
working on my classroom management
skills and techniques.
Middle term goals (1-3 years)
My intermediate goals are to continue
searching out and learning different
techniques related to inclusive
education.
Rationale Actions and strategies for
I believe that it is very important for
educators to be continuously working
on their persona in the classroom and
their classroom management skills and
practices.
This is one of my priority middle term
goals because I do not feel that I am
adequately prepared to be able to
implement different inclusive
education strategies. I do not feel as I
am fully comfortable or prepared after
leaving the Education Program, so I
want to take it upon myself to search
out material and strategies that will
help me in the future.
Target
achievement dates
Over the next few months, I plan on Review:
expanding my educational literature September 1,
library to include more works that 2021
discuss various classroom management
skills and practices. I plan to fall back Completion:
on the support system I have built up of May 1, 2022
mentor teachers from my field
experiences, mentors that I remain in
contact with. I plan to also expand my
system of mentor teachers to include
teachers at whatever school I end up
working at long term. I would use these
teachers as points of reference to see
what they have done and what
practices they find the most successful.
Over the next 12 months I plan on Review:
implementing certain strategies to June 2022
achieve this goal. One of the actions I
am going to take is searching out for Completion:
helpful educational literature that I June 2023
hope will provide me with different
strategies to implement inclusive
education techniques. I plan on doing
this over the next 6 months.

Long term goals (4 years and more)
My lasting goals would be to build a
reputation of myself throughout the
school system as being an active,
supportive, positive, and
knowledgeable member of the school
staff.
I am a firm believer in teamwork and
the institution of a support
system/network for teachers on the
same staff. I believe that it is important
for me to be able to show that I am a
reliable person that can easily adapt to
situations, all while maintaining a high
level of professionalism and
knowledge.
Over the final 6 months that I have
planned for this, I will be actively
looking for conferences, seminars, or
workshops that put showcase proven
examples of techniques that make
classrooms more inclusive for all
students.
Through developing my overall Review:

relationships with staff members
throughout my years of teaching, I Completion:
hope to begin to gain a positive June 2025-
reputation and rapport amongst all staff continuing
members. Through this, I am able to
create a supportive network of work
colleagues who I am able to approach
and be approached by in order to
provide feedback, advice, resources
and support. This will not only help my
own teaching practice, but also make
my work enjoyable and pleasant as I
am able to maintain a positive
relationship with staff colleagues.
