Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Afina Fakhrini Boelhasrin and I am currently studying at Interior Design Major Art
and Design Faculty Bandung Institute of Technology. In this letter, I am interested in stating my
personal interest in applying for ​“Beasiswa Unggulan Bank Indonesia”​ which is the name of a
scholarship program offered by Bank Indonesia. I would like to express briefly about my reasons
in applying the program.

The purpose of my entry mainly is to gain additional experience and social connection in a
different field of study, I have an interest in socializing and meeting new people because it could
improve my knowledge and giving me a different point of view of some significant thing. In my
university, my faculty, Art and Design Faculty, is the only faculty without any resemblance with
the technical, engineering, and science field, because we focused and pressured only on making
some innovation through design and art as a form of contribution for the environment and
neighborhood. I was really curious about what are they, the other faculty, were doing, and also
their perspective about certain issues. That is why I joined Marching Band Waditra Ganesha,
which is the name of a Marching Band at my university, the member of this band consists of
students from different faculties and majors.

Through becoming a member of this band, I could get a new friend, and most importantly I could
see a whole different perspective from them and also giving me a wide range of a relation. Other
than that, I was able to train my soft skills such as disciplinary, showmanship, teamwork, and
loyalty. I trained and learned those soft skills through when I was a player at color guard Fraction
to Grand Prix Marching Band 2018 representing Bandung Institute of Technology. Right now i
am trying to train my leadership skill by positioned as a leader in color guard fraction for our big
project "Marching Band Waditra Ganesha goes to Bandung Marching Band Championship 13
October 2019". It was such a really fun and useful experience because these activities lead me to
be a better person. I believe I could get those several advantages and also a whole new
experience through following Bank Indonesia's program when I becoming a GenBI ​(Generasi
Baru Bank Indonesia)​.

Other than that, becoming a GenBI could motivate and help me to improve my recent capability
in the interior design field, I am truly passionate about what am I doing right now because this is
my dream since I was at 5th-grade primary school. From when I entered this major until now, I
faced several difficulties in the process, some of it has a really big impact on me, the biggest one
is task expenses. The student never got facilitated in terms of task materials whenever we
received big projects every semester. We were given the task to make a portfolio and maquet
model to represent our interior design, the project advancement was improved by semester, it
caused the increase of the expenses. I will be very grateful to receive this scholarship because it
would facilitate and help me to reach my dream of becoming an Interior Designer by completing
my big project excellently. I believe I am a hard worker and willing to banish every single
obstacle to reach my dream.
