The 10 Characteristics of language

1. Language is arbitrary. In this characteristics that language is genuine because the users of
any particular language live in a society and their interactions through the language reflects the
worldview of the society. Such factors determine what language we use, and how we use such
language. So by that language is arbitrary.

2. Language is Social Phenomenon. Language should by considered as social phenomenon

because the language is existing in this world especially in human society. So by that we must
develops human relationship to others. Also language is phenomenon because we all people
will need a language to communicate to others.

3 Language is a Symbolic System.We know that language has many different types of sounds
and symbols. So in communication we can also use symbols to communicate, because the
symbols you present we can create a communication because of it's particular meaning.

4. Language is Systematic. Language is a systematic means of communicating by the use of

sounds or conventional symbols. The cognitive processes involved in producing and
understanding linguistic communication. A system of words used to name things in a particular
discipline. The mental faculty or power of vocal communication.

5. Language is Vocal, Verbal Sound. Language is can be vocal and verbal sound it's because we
can get the thought easily if it is Vocal and verbal, because the way to understand people is the
way he/she use is language. Also by the use of vocal we can build a new relationship to others.

6. Language is Non-instinctive, Conventional. Language can develop and extend from day to
day. Each language has it's on circulation and uses in a particular community. Language can be
more advance and transmit, because the generation is also advance. So by that we can say that
language is Non-instinctive because we human being is equal and need by us.

7. Language is Productive and Creative. Language has its own innovation, because both
components of human language where joined together and create new ideas and expression.
Also laguage can be productive if we can generate more words everyday. So by that language
has the power to be creative and productive.
8. Language is system of communication. Language is accessible, and the best form of
communication. It is the best way to express our thoughts and feelings, because of using the
language we can interact easily and we can show all our ideas.

9. Language is Human and Structionally Complex. Human language is open-minded and broad,
because language is changing from time to time. And only us, a human beings can use and
support our language. Not other species. So by that language is naturally for human and to be
complex.

10. Language is Unique, Complex and Modifiable. Language is the unique phenomenon in this
world, because language is the best relevance to a human without it we cannot communication
to others. We cannot share our thoughts to others. Despite of the common features and
language is the universal. But all language has its own quality.
