Fee inclusions/exclusions

The items listed below are included within the tuition fees for all students:

• required fieldwork, residential and materials costs


• printing & photocopying to value of £15 per year (£7.50 for PT students).
• professional registration fees where required, except for the Law Society and Market Research Society (MRS) registration fee for students on the
LPC and MA ASMR courses
• APEL and APL where relevant.

The following items are excluded from the tuition fee for all students and, where applicable, chargeable in addition:

• genuinely optional fieldwork.


• fees & exchange losses with conversion of foreign currency payments to GB sterling.
• printing & photocopying above specified limits.
• recommended course materials.

Important information

• All fees quoted are valid for 2009/10 only and will change in future years. You should not assume that the current fees will be the same for future
years

• Bursaries of £310 for 2009/10 are available if you are an eligible full-time/Home/undergraduate student, who started your course on or after
September 2006. You can get the bursary as long as you receive any part of the Maintenance Grant from your local authority. The bursary is a grant
to help with course-related costs. You keep the money - there is no need to pay it back. You apply for the bursary on the same form that you apply for
state funding through the Student Loan Company/Local Authority

• The bursary will be paid in February 2010, when the University has confirmed students are enrolled and
in attendance

• Important for: full-time undergraduate UK/EU students with SLC fee loans, who enrolled after 2006/7.
Please make sure that you apply for the full fee loan of £3250 for 2009/10, if you wish the loan to cover the total cost of your fees (the year’s fee for
continuing, UK/EU full-time, undergraduate students who started before
2006/7 will be £1255)

Prompt payment discount
A prompt payment discount of 5% is available if you have a total fee of over £5,000, if payment is received in full, and the University confirms receipt as
cleared funds, by 30 September 2009 or by 31 January 2010 if you are a Semester Two starter. Payment by cheque is not permitted for prompt payment
discount eligibility.

Instalment arrangements
Instalment arrangements are available if your personal annual fee contribution for the course exceeds £1,500 and you are not eligible for a Tuition Fee
Loan. If you are paying by instalments, 50%of the fee is required at enrolment, 25% on 1 December 2009 and 25% on 31 January 2010. Fieldwork fees and
material levies must be paid in full at enrolment.

Methods of payment
Fees may be paid online by credit or debit card (not Amex, Visa Electron or Diners Club), bank transfer, cash (GBP only) or cheques/drafts (GBP, US$,
Euros). If you are paying your fees to the University directly from an overseas bank, please give your name, course and student ID number when making
the transaction.

University of Westminster fee liability and refund policy


If you provide a formal (i.e. written) notification of withdrawal from a course you will be liable for fees as follows. In addition, you will be liable for any
unreturned library books.

Semester One (September starters)


If you withdraw before 13 October 2009 you are liable for the £100 administration fee only. If you withdraw between 13 October and 15 December 2009 you
are liable for half the fee plus the £100 administration fee. If you withdraw thereafter you are liable for full fees.

Semester Two (January starters)


If you withdraw on or before 20 January 2010 you are liable for the £100 administration fee only. If you withdraw between 20 January and 1 April 2010 you
are liable for half the fee plus the £100 administration fee. If you withdraw thereafter you are liable for full fees.

Refunds are made in line with the above and are subject to the provision of feedback on your experience at Westminster provided on the withdrawal form.
