1. Explain globalization in your own words and cite a concrete example of it taking
place in relation to your chosen career path.

Globalization refers of having interdependent and globalized world

through continuous interaction and connection over each other countries in
terms of economic, social, political aspects. It is having instant access between
different worlds, from third world countries to first world. This globalization
affects the in the relation of my chosen career path which is Accountancy.
Economy is widely associated in the business as a the increasing scale of
cross-border exchange of goods and services, movement of foreign capital and
broad and rapid spread of technologies. Globalization affects accounting as it
is connected to the transformation of business where countries are
collaborated with another one. It gives to new opportunities and challenges to
the accountants. One of these struggle is that the different financial reporting
standards in the place within each region and the inconsistencies that exist
between these regulation. It gives opportunities because it gives the
accountants in their standpoint to expand their awareness and expertise to
compete and reach international standards.

2. What are the possible effects of globalization in:

a. the environment- globalization affects the environment in terms of increase in
consumption which turns into increase of production especially in importing and
exporting goods/resources from different countries and this somehow a good sign and
a bad sign. It is good because it means that we have the capability of survival but in
return we may also be responsible to our environment by reciprocate what we get, if
we get crops we should plant back.
b. culture - it impacts globalization in terms of cultural awareness were media as
prime mover what media says would dictate a big part of what culture is. this is making
us more aware of who we're talking to, what we're talking about and all the various
contexts that in terms of communicating.
c. political system- we got here supernatural organization, it means beyond natural
or supra. So if we have our government in our country (Philippines) beyond that is
supra government one of which is the United Nations, World Trade Organization
(WTO) and etc. These big bodies of government/organizations serves as the balance
in terms of agreement. They will answer big issues and helps other concerns of the
country, they serve as world police and to keep something in peace
d. nation's economy-This has something to do with our common discourse just like
transactions like trading, money transfers, money transactions worldwide. The not so
good part is the exploitation of labor example in the Philippines where we are one of
the richest source of outsourcing labor and of outsourcing companies because
Philippines labor is cheap.
e. human physical well-being- globalization impacts the physical well-being and on
the quality of life, particularly on human development. Given the good effects of
globalization in terms of environment, culture, political system and economy it
improves the well-being of a person because through globalization human dignity and
human rights has become recognized and also it becomes more complex and
challenging as globalization strives. Through globalization it improves the life of
people as there will be connections to other countries in which helps improve and
decrease the population of poverty. There will be jobs available and support from the
higher organization. It improves the physical well-being as we can be sure that peace
is the highest priority and survival is higher through collection of knowledge from
different places.
