Instruction.Write a short essay about your opinion on whether Rizal

deserves to be the national hero of the Philippines.

“Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan” one of the remarkable quote of

Rizal or Dr. Jose Proctacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda. He is the
renowned as the National Hero of the Philippines. He is very popular that in
every corners of the Philippines you will Rizal, in streets, monument, books
and etc. For the many heroes in the Philippines Rizal make his name to the
top because he is very remarkable during the Spanish colonization. He
defeated and exposed the wrong doings of the Spanish through his noble
writings and manifestation. He did not fought aggressively but silently
through his book “Noli Me Tangere” or Touch me not and “El Filibusterismo”
or the The Reign of Greed. These remarkable writings of him open the eyes
of the Filipinos that it is the colonization that roots of all the problems. It is
not our fellow Filipino who is the enemy but the Spaniards and through that
Philippine Independence takes its place.

Rizal being the national hero is truly undeniable although there are
many controversies about him having many women, arrogant and etc, but
this is not just the basis of him not being qualified, it may be cliche but he is
just a human who makes mistakes and these mistakes doesn’t justify his
contribution to the country, his patriotism that he is willing to die for the sake
of the country. He may not fought just like how Andres Bonifacio fought but
he fought in his own ability which is writing, creating novels. Without Rizal
there will be no inspiration for Bonifacio, and without Bonifacio Rizal will not
be recognized. It is because of his propagandas that made Filipinos awake
to their senses and his two remarkable books which is published by
Penguin Classics. According to them that “Noli Me Tangere” and “El
Filibusterismo” is the first anti-colonial literary manifestation in Asia against
Europeans.

In this present day it is truly that Rizal have given the most impact
during in his time and he is also recognized by the Americans, but let us not
forget that it is not just Rizal who pushed through into our success in
obtaining freedom but also we have these remarkable peoples that
contributed in some aspects and they are the living example that we should
embodied their will and ambitions as a Filipino and further contributed to the
improvement of our country which is the Philippines.
