Leadership and
Collaboration
During my student teaching, I
did a project to measure the
students' growth during a unit
I taught. The unit consisted of
comparison bars. I did a pre-
test to see what the students
know, then a post-test to see
what the students learned. I
used the pre-test data to see
where my students needed the
most practice and applied it to
my teaching.
My project reminded me of the
importance of assessment and
how it guides teacher's
instruction. I had to
collaborate with my mentor
teacher on how I was going to
set up the assessments. We also
had to work together on when
the assessments were going to
take place. My mentor teacher
also gave feedback on the
lessons so I could work on
making them better.
