ANS2: It was formed in response to the partition by the Hindus . The Hindus were furious with the
partition as they saw it as a part of thr british divide and rule policy . The Swadeshi movement was a
boycott of the British goods( british sugar, salt and cloth especially cotton) and only Indian produced
goods were bought.

ANS4: The INC was set up in 1885 by Alan Octavian Hume , with the Lord Dufferin. It was formed to
improve communications between the British and the Indians and also to ask the British to end unfair
practices in India. At first it was thought to be for all the Indians but gradually became to be known asa
Hindu dominating party, serving Hindu interests only.
