(Monique’s on the way to Nicole’s house)

(phone call)

Nicole: Hey Monique! I’ve already prepared the materials for our project. Where are you?

Monique: Hello Nicole! I’m already on my way. Do you think those materials are enough?

N: Yes, I think so. And if ever we need something, there’s a store nearby.

M: Okay. Anyway, I have something to tell you when I get there.

N: Sure. I’ll wait for you, then.

M: See you!

(Monique arrived at her house)

N: Hi, come in. Have you eaten already? I’ll ask them to prepare for us.

M: No, it’s okay. I already ate before Ieft.

N: Drinks, perhaps?

M: That would do. Thank you, Nicole.

N: Sure, no problem.

(While setting up the laptop and materials)

N: Here are the materials, let’s begin with the draft.

M: Sure, let me handle it.

N: Anyway what do you want to tell me?

M: Ah yes. You know what? While I’m on my way, I noticed that there are a lot of people that’s wearing
face mask today. Almost every one of them is wearing it and I’m really curious. I know it’s not about the
eruption of Taal Volcano because I’ve read on the news that the air quality here in Manila is now
normal. Do you know the reason?

N: Oh, I think I know the reason. Earlier I read an article in facebook, let me check it again.

(scroll, scroll, scroll, then pakita yung news alert about ncov)

N: I know it has something to do about a virus that came from Wuhan, China. The first case of that virus
was detected there.

M: That’s really disturbing.

N: It can be easily transmitted from one person to another, usually after close contact with an infected
patient.

M: So, is wearing a face mask can prevent it from being transmitted?

N: I think no, not really. Since it is a respiratory disease, wearing face mask alone does not guarantee
safety.

M: Then what should we do now?

N: What I know for now is that we should avoid going to crowded place and apply hand and respiratory
hygiene.

M: Oh that’s scary. I should really start wearing face mask today and wash my hands correctly and bring
hand sanitizers. I think people are also scared since there are a lot of Chinese people here in the
Philippines.

N: Yes, considering that the year just started and yet we face these problems already.

M: Anyway, what is the name of the virus again so that I could research about it also.

N: It is called Corona Virus.

: Oh here, DOH spokesperson is doing a live interview regarding the virus.

M: Okay okay. Let’s watch it.
