“Let Us Leave To God What Is Unto God and To Man What Is Unto Man”

From my perspective, Rizal is making a distinction between worldly and spiritual matters.

We should focus on our relationship with God and it is more important to make sure we are

pleasing God than anybody else.

1. Separation of Church and State- His religious teachings should be separated from earthly

political activity.

2. Although Civil Obedience is commanded, it is also important that the prior requirement

of obedience to God must prevail.
