Question 1

The online job market connects job seekers with potential employers. An online job market is
now very popular with both job seekers and employers. In this context explain
a) How job referral social networking sites are useful for job seekers?
b) The electronic job market may increase employee turnover and its costs. How? Explain
with examples.
c) What are the limitations of electronic job markets?

Ans: a) Social network helps the people to get engaged and close to the potential candiate. For a
job seeker, social network can be very useful to find a job. There is a lot of different ways to find
a job on social network.

1) First of all, with the help of social network job seeker can find and apply easily in their
related field.
2) Social media apps can be very helpful for job seekers like LinkedIn you just create a file
and up to date.
3) By using your social media profile you can create a you good image for as a hireable
employee.
4) Job seekers can checking out the social media accounts for knowing about company by
their posts, blogs and tweets rather than the static webpages.
5) Social media groups is a great way for job seekers. For Example: if you are finding a job
related to marketing you can join whats app groups, facebook groups. In groups people
share their experiences which help to the job seekers in interview.
6) Physical Resume was consist of 1 or 2 pages. But now job seekers don’t limit yourself.
7) Can apply in many companies at a time. No need to go to the company and submit the
resume.

B) Employee turnover:

Is a term in which number of workers that leaves a company during a


specified period of time.

People join and leaves in short period of time in not a new discussion. But there always a
reason behind their leaving. Some reasons are avoidable but some can be serious. The
electronic job market is increasing job turn over and its cost because people have a lots of
other opportunities at a same time. Which force the employees to move the other
organization because where they have a better opportunity. In that result your cost will be
increase because your investment on the employee’s training, cost of advertising and your
recuirtment cost will be lose. For Example: If a person is working in off shore oil and gas
production company last for 1 year on the income of 5000 dollars. Instantly, he see a job on
social network a same type of company, same designation offering 6000 dollar. He will leave
instantly because he have the better opportunity. In that result you cost on the employee will
be lost.

C) Limitations of electronic job market:

Electronic market have many benefits as well as it has few limitation. Posted a resume on
social networking sites is not safe. For Example if a person is working in an Engro foods
organization and he posted a resume on LinkedIn. It may be possible their boss will see. So
the protection of your resume is not safe. LinkedIn shows the number of hiring through
which network which is not safe. There is another limitation which is the other sites like
facebook which carry your personal information posted a resume on that social networking
sites is not safe.
