Software Upgrade

Overview Install iVista


bellavista can be upgraded to new software versions Download iVista from https://www.ivista.ch and install it
and/or options via the internet. A USB memory stick with on any Windows computer.
a minimum capacity of 2 GB and a computer with inter-
net connection are required. The software iVista is used
to manage the upgrades. iVista can be downloaded from
the internet and also serves as viewer for exported trend-
ing data. Upgrades are individual for each bellavista and
cannot be installed on another unit. The software up-
grade procedure consists of five main steps:

time it is started

Important Please note that Trending Data and


saved Profiles may be lost during the
software upgrade. It is highly recom-
mended to export all saved Profiles
(see bellavista User Manual) and even-
tually relevant the Trending Data prior
to the software upgrade.

Upgrade Procedure

a) Make USB Stick “bellavista-ready”

If a USB stick is used for software upgrading for the first Disconnect the USB stick from your computer
time, it has to be made “bellavista-ready”:
Start iVista (internet connection required)
Select Update bellavista

Connect the USB stick with your computer


Select the USB stick (if more than one is connected)
Click Prepare USB Stick
Wait, until the message USB stick prepared ap-
pears, then click OK

Unpack/extract the downloaded zip-folder to the

Safely disconnect the USB stick from your computer
using Windows functionality

This file contains the device ID of the bellavista with se-


rial number MB100123. It is required for iVista to down-
load the right upgrade. This file can be e-mailed or cop-
ied to other USB sticks.

This is a bellavista LOG file of the bellavista with the se-


rial number MB100123, downloaded on May 27th 2014 at
08:06:43 PM. Please e-mail for trouble shooting.

Wait until the progress bar reached the end and bel-
lavista shuts down automatically
Switch on bellavista

Reconnect the USB stick with your computer running
Shut down bellavista by pressing and holding the
iVista (iVista automatically changes to the screen

Switch on bellavista
iVista will automatically update the bellavista data base
During the prolonged start-up period the new version is
with the up-to-date device information
initialized and then ready for use. If the update includes
the operating system, the device will ask for system time
and touch screen calibration. Check if the iVista database indicates that the bel-
lavista is up to date (message Device is up to date
in the On server panel, see picture below)
Go to page three of the bellavista Main Menu
Select About bellavista
Check if the correct software version is installed on
bellavista
Import the profiles saved on the USB stick (see bel-
lavista User Manual for details)
Load the profile named “LastSettings”
Check if the trending data has been lost during the
software update and hand over the corresponding
exported files to the end user, if necessary
