Overall aim and context of the lesson

The students will learn about wh sound and how they write and read it.

On 16 February 2021 was my first lesson to teach, I teaches grade one in al Bteen school there
was 15 students, and it was my first time teaching online so I was feeling shy and nervures.
Every teaching practice I feel same feeling but every time I challenge myself to avoid this, and I
do it and get close to the students and this give me more confidence. In this lesson I taught them
English it was about the letters sound in the beginning no one was participate and I felt that I
should get their attention, so I started the lesson with song of the sound to attract the student’s
attention and it’s worked well so in every English lesson I used this song. I had used the
PowerPoint to give the lessons it’s includes video about the lesson and some pages from the
student’s book and live worksheet for the activities.

I start this lesson by welcome the students and tell them about what we will take and the lesson
name. first, I had chosen one student to read the classroom rules for the other students and then
the online rule and when the student finish I started to play the song for the students and then a
start the video about the lesson which is WH sound and then we start to solve the book pages and
do the activities. Second, the students enjoyed the lesson, and they were good and answering me
on time, but some students were shy and don’t talk but during the activities I was enforce them
kindly to answer by asking them if they know the answer and I discovered that they want to
answer but they feel shy.

To solve the pages of the book, I divided the pages. Students should solve this page as a whole
class and solve the other pages on their own and share pictures of the solution in the chat box it
was good way it let the students work and open their minds. Also, to check the students
understanding I had used a live worksheet about the lesson.

In the end of the lesson, I used the exit ticket and the self-assessment to make sure that the
students understand the lesson well.

It was good experience to teach online, and I like the way that I can use the PowerPoint to teach
my lessons, but I found difficulty to find the correct videos about the lesson sometimes.

In my next lesson I will work hard and search about the videos carefully.
