Letter H Lesson Reflection

This lesson is for KG1 students; I taught this lesson in Al

Resalah American International School. In this lesson, I was
trying to make the students be able to distinguish the letter H
from the rest of the letters, pounce and write the letter and
identify words begin with the letter H.

I started the lesson with the daily morning routine, asking about
the weather, date, day, and month and then sing the ABC song
with the students. The students were engaged with me, but
some students did not participate with me, I think thats
because I was so nervous, I was talking and moving so fast, and
some of the students were not able to follow up with me. So
next time I will try to slow down and give the students the
chance to answer and precipitate with me.

I relate the lesson to the students prior understanding by

asking them about words they know. I asked one student to
come up and stand in front of all the students, I point out at her
hair and her hands, and asked what this is? They directly
answered me, then I made them repeat the words and let them
think what the sound is.

One from the aspects that I think I did it very well was that I
explained and demonstrated the activities very well and my
voice was clear because when the students were working on
the activities, nobody asked me what to do?

On the other hand, one aspect that requires attention is time

management, I finished the lesson early there were 15 minutes
left, the students were working, but I was nervous, so I wanted
to end the lesson, so I told them to stop, even though there was
enough time.
