DIARY ENTRY – FINAL DRAFT

You have travelled to Pakistan for winter holidays. When it was your flight back to
Jeddah, you were informed at the airport that Saudi government has suspended all
flights for unknown period of time.
OR
You recently visited a refugee camp. Reflect your observations, thoughts and feelings
about the people suffering there.
Write a diary entry for one day after the incident.
Sunday 1st January:
Dear Secret Keeper,
Yesterday’s day was very tough. As you know we were at Pakistan but, Yesterday Saudi
Arabia cancelled flights. Unfortunately, we are stuck in Pakistan. I don’t have any
problem being stuck in Pakistan to be honest because I have all my cousins and relatives
over here but, my dad, my dad has a problem and that problem is his job. We don’t
know for how long we are trapped in here? So, we are actually really worried about
dad’s job.
Fortunately for you, you don’t have any emotions. You actually don’t know how
depressed and unhappy I am seeing my father be unhappy. I actually wanna cry so loud
in a private room. And you know, I have not even eaten anything from morning. Life is
hard. Life is boring. You know why I am saying that? That’s Because it is my first time
being so depressed. I just fear if this all happen in my future and I can’t support my
family. Then? Then what will I do secret keeper. Just roam around begging in front of
people. I seriously! I seriously wanna be a diary like you. Who meets its best friend daily
and his best friend tells him everything truthfully. But we humans can’t do that. We
humans think that world is everything for us. And now we are trapped in greed of money
and happiness. But what we actually forgot is that real world and happiness is after this

world, which have more worth than money. Money is just a piece of paper; which people
die after. And so, we are currently, and this thing we should change. You know what? It
was a tough day today and now I wanna sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow.
