Q.1Though having a small world around her to observe, especially
the rustic life, but still Austen hit deep in the roots of patriarchy.
Elaborate with reference to Pride and Prejudice.
Answer:
Jane Austen wrote about her world and the things that she knew best and what she
believed in. Her intricate detail outlines human behaviour precisely and accurately.
Humour is enjoyable as some of her characters make big pompous displays and
occasionally make fools of themselves. She portrays life as it truly is and that is
even accurate in modern ways today.

Pride and Prejudice:

It is one of the great literary achievements of the 19th century. In the novel, pride
is related to Darcy and prejudice to Elizabeth, but after reading this novel we see
that, in fact, both are proud and prejudiced in many ways. Jane Austen, one of the
shining stars of the 19th century. Jane Austen, undoubtedly, the greatest unique
artist of her age, 19th century. We realize some of the hidden messages in this
novel.

In 1796, when Austen was 21 years old, she wrote the novel First Impression. In
1813Austen rewritten and published under the title Pride and Prejudice. It is her
most popular and perhaps he greatest novel. It is about the main characters
Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy. Elizabeth is guilty of prejudice against
the aristocratic Darcy, and he manifests excessive pride in his cold and unbending
attitude toward Elizabeth, her sister Jane, and other members of the Bennet family.

This is about the main characters Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy.
Elizabeth is committed to prejudice against the elite Darcy, and is overly proud of
her cold and unwavering attitude towards Elizabeth, her sister Jane, and other
members of the Bennet family. So, for Mrs. Bennet, the most important thing was
to marry his daughters, especially the wealthy young man, ‘a single man of large
fortune; five thousand pounds a year. What a fine thing for our girls.’

This story was written for social purposes, Austin wrote the events using three
main tools, which are sarcastic, ironic and less understandable. Jane mocks her
society ironically in this story. In short, the story is heading to the first impression,
or stereotyping between heroes and heroines, which is due to the seasonal moment
until we reach the resolution that is the ideal marriage with a rich man is very
important at the moment: “it is universally acknowledged that a single man in
possession of a fortune, must be in the desire of a wife.”

Jane Austen's life is remarkable for her lack of events, she does not marry so she
observes the cannel around her. In this novel Jane Austen clearly represents
women's respect and rights. She also represents how a girl marries a rich man and
the reaction to her gifts, a girl's inheritance and opportunities to be one of the rich
lady at the moment. When a young woman leaves her family without their
approval, it is a very serious sign of an extreme break, such as running away to
marry a disapproved husband, or to go into an illicit relationship such as when
Lydia leaves the Foresters to run away with Wickham. The status of women was
important factor that affected Jane Austen as a female novelist. She hated the way
people looked at woman and tried to make woman equal to men. As she also
explains in the novel that:

“There certainly was some great mismanagement in the education of those

two young men one has got all the goodness and the other all the appearance
of it.” Here she talked about Wickham and Darcy, two men with apposite
personality, how Wickham convinced her sister to gone away with him.

“Our importance our respectability in the World must be affected by the wild
volatility, the Assurance and disdain of are restrain which mark Lydia's
character.”

The main method of ‘Patriarchy’ in pride and prejudice is to see through Bennet
daughters: Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Lydia, and Kitty. Not only that women are not
allowed to own any kind of property or money but also because women are not
able to marry for love.

The example of patriarchy in pride and prejudice was Mr. Darcy’s description of
“proven” women. The reason I put this into quotations is because I take a very
clearly full term in Mr. Darcy’s sense. Mr. Darcy provides a list of everything
women must be able to “complete”, including singing, drawing, dancing, and many
other things. They also say that they have to walk and talk in a certain way. He
only claims to know half a dozen women. This is another great example of
patriotism as it is saying that there are some things society thinks women must be
able to do or they are not a complete women Men never have any standards to
meet, and no one sees men who can’t sing, draw, sew, dance, or other “feminine”
activities. The fact that this society gave women certain standards that they had to
“meet” in order to meet, makes it a very patriarchal society.

Due to patriarchy, society could not accept women to enter professions such as
medicine or law. Therefore, limited formal education. If unmarried, they will
continue to depend on their relatives, earn little income from their fathers, brothers.
In the case of Elizabeth she relies on her father while living, but because she has no
brother, her circumstances can be quite bad on the passing of Mr. Bennet. He and
his mother and sisters will be forced to rely on the help and good will of their
relatives, such as Mr. And Mrs. Phillips, Mr. And Mrs. Gardiner.

Unmarried women did not have to be alone. If a single woman who had never been
married was not living with her family, she had to stay with her relatives. So when
Bennet daughters travel in pride and prejudice, they should always be in the
company of a relative or an honourable married woman. She also represents here
that every girl have her own will marry:

“ I said no such thing I am only resolved to act in that manner, which will, in
my own opinion, constitutes my happiness, without reference to you, or to any
person so whole and connected with me.”

Unmarried women did not have to be alone. If a single woman who had never been
married was not living with her family, she had to stay with her relatives. So when

Conclusion: Jane Austen wrote about her life and includes her social class.
