Part A
Total-9.5-
1. Informed consent is required by people to learn and understand about the purpose, benefits
and potential risks of any experiments or clinical trials. Using this information the
participant will agree to treatment such as surgery, or medicinal trials, etc. It is also required
to sign the agreement after the “informed consent”.

Informed consent as practiced in engineering, requires the customer to know the following:
(a) the knowledge about the product
(b) risks and benefits of using the product
-1.5-
(c) all relevant information on the product, such as how to use and how not to use (do’s
and don’ts).

2. Tolerance is much emphasized for moral autonomy because while giving moral judgment,
one should

- have a lot of patience.interest, humanity,

- strict with the Don'ts, Ii be.rat with Do 's

- show kindness towards his fellow beings

-1-
- have adequate knowledge and understanding about the use ob

- ethical language so as to defend or support his views with other

3. poor housekeeping can be the cause for risk in an Industry in following ways:

- inappropriate Keeping RM blocking fire exits, aisles and emergency exits.

- not good information about shortcuts in case of accidents.

-1- - poor housekeeping may not have goof chemical control. Large amount of storage of
hazardous chemical may be risky.

- unawareness about all height positions where working may be risky.

4. Agency loyalty is expected from the job of an industry manager because here the manager is
expected to comply with contractual obligations and follow the company's code of conduct
while doing so, thus implying that there is a guiding principle to say how. carry out your work.
While in the case of the attitude of loyalty it is mandatory in two conditions:

1. When some important objectives are met by and through a group in which engineers
participate,

2. When employees are treated fairly, receiving the part of profits and charges.

-2- But clearly, Attitude-Loyalty is a virtue and not strictly an obligation. So there is a chance that
they will stray out of our way.

1. Nepotism is the practice of giving favors to relatives and close friends. It is a conflict of
interest because the relative may not be the best person for the job.

? Self-control is a situation in which someone in a position of Responsibility in an organization

has conflicting external interests and acts in his own interest rather than in the interest of
the organization.
For example : Use of corporation funds as a personal loan, or buying stocks of company
based on insider information—which is also an insider trading violation. In a non-profit
organization, setting compensation or benefits for officers, directors, or trustees may result
-2.5- in a conflict of interest. For instance, paying an employee in a position or substantial
authority excessive compensation serves a private interest.

2. In lab experiment,
In standard experiments- members for study are in two groups A&B
Group A given special treatment(receives the treatment whose effect researchers wish to
study) & B no treatment and is called the 'controlled group'
the control group and the experimental groups are identical
the experimental groups are subjected to treatments or interventions
the effect of the treatmenUintervention on the expe

In engineering projects:
- In engineering, this is not there as projects are not happening in lab
- In engineering, the consumers who choose the product, exercise the control
-0.5- - In engineering, through random sampling, the survey is made from among the users, to
assess the results on the product
