7. Describe and evaluate how teacher represents diversity in the physical environment
The teacher represents diversity in the physical environment by having pictures of children and

staff learning about different cultures together while they do physical activities which include;

gardening and also grocery shopping. They also learn where fruits and other food comes from.

While the children play in a section, the teacher participates in the activities as well and makes

sure to check all children are studying active and playing

The room arrangement is very organized. Each section has a reasonable amount of playful

activities. The classroom is very well organized and neat. The toy and games area also has a

table in the middle of the classroom where children can also sit and have more room.

Strengths: neatness, participation, fun activities

Weaknesses: Space for certain areas

What can improve is a little more room for certain play areas

Environment Observation Checklist

1. Arrangement of physical space

· Crowded play areas: not present

· Ample indoor space: space around classroom gives children and staff the ability to walk

around freely and gives enough space for activities and play
2. Learning materials, equipment, and furniture

· Furniture is child-sized: chairs, tables, and shelves are small enough for children. Shelves

are short enough where children can reach equipment in play areas.

· No soft furnishing: not present

3. Storage of materials and equipment

· Unorganized play materials: not present

· Centers with sufficient space: centers such as the block area and art area have sufficient

space. The art area also has a table in the middle of the classroom that is also part of it.

4. Other elements of the physical environment

· Space lacks lighting: not present

· Natural lighting: classroom has blinds and windows are very wide. If the teacher opens

blinds, it gives the classroom sufficient natural lighting
