Presentation
You and your partner will be made co-hosts for the duration of your presentation.
Together you will be presenting your renaissance subject to the class. Your presentation should be
about four minutes, include one to three images, and address the following:

● Why is this work famous?

● What do you want your audience to see?
● If you are showing multiple pieces, is there an evolution of technique or theme?
● What is experimental/new about the work?
● How does the artist’s work reflect the spirit of the Renaissance?

Preparation for presentation

Research your subject thoroughly (the specific painting, sculpture, building, scientific theory, or
literature you are presenting). Do not rely on Wikipedia for this. Wikipedia has no sense of
significance when it comes to Renaissance subjects. All of these subjects are famous and important
and there are lots of resources to explore.

We highly recommend the following sources:

Find out where your piece is living today, and be sure to check the website of that museum or
building as well.

Once you have done your research construct your presentation:

● Write a script. Determine what each of you are going to say.
● Select high quality images for your presentation and put them into a slide deck
● To enhance your instruction, you can write and draw on the images on your slides to
direct our attention to the details you are discussing. It’s also useful to write significant
words you might be introducing.
● Rehearse and time your presentation (a smooth four minutes)
