Index
To prepare the aircraft for the Pre-Flight Checklist, you must do a few
things.
Set Fuel and Payload in the FSX/P3D “Alt” Menu
o You can find Fuel and Payload under Vehicle
You have two options when powering the aircraft up from Cold and
Dark:
o Connect the GPU:
To connect the GPU you must:
The parking brake can be found on the left side of
the captain’s seat atop the tiller.
Set/Verify PARK BRAKE is ENGAGED (Pulled out)
Set BATTERY to ON
Retrieve your tablet
o The tablet can be retrieved by clicking on the
sleeve left of the Captain’s yoke and right of
the First Officer’s yoke.
Click on the tablet screen
Note: You should see 3 apps to choose from, if you do
not, click the X in the top right corner of the tablet.
Select the On-Demand app
Check the box next to the Ground Power Unit
The annunciator above EXT PWR should illuminate
with AVAIL
Set EXT PWR to ON
Set GALLEY PWR to ON
o Start the APU:
To start the APU you must set:
The parking brake can be found on the left side of

BATTERY to ON
START PUMP to ON
APU MASTER to START then to ON
Wait until the annunciator above APU GEN illuminates to

R AFT PUMP to ON
START PUMP to OFF
APU AIR to ON
Note: APU AIR available two minutes after start.
Set GALLEY PWR to ON
Displays will take roughly 2 minutes to power on
During this period the stick pusher and stick shaker will run a self test.
The Integrated Standby Instrument System (ISIS) will also conduct a
self test during this period.
Lights
o Set ON:
NAVIGATION LIGHT
LOGO
LEFT GROUND FLOOD LIGHT
RIGHT GROUND FLOOD LIGHT
Set WING/NACELLE LIGHT to R ONLY
o Verify OFF:
BEACON LIGHT
NOSE
LANDING LIGHTS
HIGH INTENSITY LIGHT
o As required:
DOME
OVERHEAD LIGHTING
INSTRUMENT AND PANEL LIGHTING

Pre-Flight Overview
Annunciator Lights
o The annunciator light test button can be found on the right-
lower section of the overhead panel, above the right windshield
wiper.
o Hold down ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT TEST and verify lights are
visible on these panels:
Overhead (Above Circuit Breakers):
Ground Service Elec Pwr
Overhead (Below Circuit Breakers):
Flight Deck Door Panel
IRS Panel
ANTISKID Switch
VHF Overhead Panel
Cargo Smoke Panel
HYD CONT RUDDER Switch
EGPWS TERRAIN OVRD Switch
Electrical Panel
Cabin Press Panel
AIR DATA HEAT Switch
Engines Panel
Light Panel
Glareshield Panels:

SD Control Panel
o Once all annunciators are checked, release the button.
Passenger Signs
o The passenger signs control switches can be found on the
bottom-center of the overhead panel. The switch is located on
the Lights Panel.
Verify NO SMOKING SIGN is ON
Set SEAT BELT SIGN to ON
Flight Control Panel (FCP)
o The flight control panel controls the plane’s auto flight systems.
This can be found in the center of the glareshield panels.
o Verify values set for flight match restrictions for planned
departure.
Altimeters
o The altimeter control can be found on the EIS Control Panel on
the left and right side of the glareshield panels.
o The current setting can be found on the Captain and First
Officer’s PFDs, as well as the ISIS between the MCDUs .
o Set altimeters to current barometric pressure
o The altimeters are independent of each other, verify and
crosscheck.
Flight and Navigation Instruments
o Align the IRS
The IRS panel can be found on the left-top of the
overhead panel below the circuit breakers.
Verify you have stable power and set IRS switches to
NAV
Note: Your aircraft must not be moving during alignment.
On either MCDU (Read our MCDU Documentation Here):
Enter the FMC and F-PLN INIT Page and enter the
airports in the scratch pad and click the right level
select 1 (R LSK 1) key
o Airports should be formatted:
DepICAO/ArrICAO
Click the R LSK 6 key for Return to F-PLN INIT
Click the R LSK 4 key to INITIALIZE IRS
Verify IRS IN ALIGN is displayed on the EAD
o Verify the MCDU
Enter and Verify Flight Plan on the F-PLN Page
Enter and Verify all 3 INIT Pages
Enter and Verify Takeoff Data on TO / APPR Page

Electrical
o If you are using external power, you must start the APU for
pushback.
To start the APU:
o R AFT PUMP to ON
o APU MASTER to START then to ON
Wait until the annunciator above APU GEN
illuminates to ON and set:
o APU GEN to ON
o APU AIR to ON
o Retrieve your tablet
o Click on the tablet
o Select the On-Demand App
o Disconnect the GPU by clicking the box left of
Ground Power Unit and verify it is a hollow
box.
o Disconnect External Air by clicking the box left
of External Air Unit
o Remove Wheel Chocks/Cones by clicking the
box left Wheel Chocks/Cones
Note: APU AIR available two minutes after start.
Hydraulic Panel
o Set LEFT HYD PUMP and RIGHT HYD PUMP to ON
o Set AUX HYD PUMP to HYD TRANS to ON
Fuel Panel
o Set ALL FUEL PUMPS with fuel in respective tanks to ON
Transponder
o Set TCAS MODE to ALT ON
Ice Protection
o Verify your anti-ice is still set for the conditions
o Verify WINDSHIELD ANTI-ICE is ON
Lights
o Set BEACON to ON
Parking Brake
o Set PARKING BRAKE to RELEASED (PUSHED IN)
After Start
Ice Protection
o If If OAT is less than 6℃ with visible moisture or the difference
between OAT and dew point is less than 3℃:
L ENG ICE PROTECTION set to ON
R ENG ICE PROTECTION set to ON
Air
o Set L PACK and R PACK to ON
o Set L BLEED and R BLEED to AUTO
o Set ISOL to AUTO
o Set APU AIR to OFF
Electrical
o Set L ENG GEN and R ENG GEN to ON
Taxi
Before Takeoff
Departure Runway
o Verify the runway you are preparing to takeoff from is the
runway assigned to you by ATC and the runway set up in the
MCDU for departure
Flaps
o Verify FLAPS are set to the correct setting on the CONFIG SD
DISPLAY
Takeoff Briefing
o This is when you should go over the takeoff procedure, who is
in charge during departure, and V-Speeds
Brake Temperature
o Verify your brake temperature is within safe limits on the
CONFIG SD DISPLAY
Flight Controls
o View the CONFIG SD DISPLAY
o Verify that following flight controls display a green box on
CONFIG SD DISPLAY:
Yoke Full Left
Yoke Full Right
Yoke Full Forward
Rudder Full Left
Rudder Full Right
Note: Yoke Full Back will not display green box as the
elevator control only becomes alive with sufficient
airspeed
EAD
o Verify no abnormal alerts displayed on EAD
o A green box will be displayed in the center annunciator on the
EAD if your takeoff configuration is proper
Transponder
o Set TCAS MODE to TA/RA
o Verify transponder is set to ATC assigned number
Lights
o Set ON:

Takeoff
Takeoff
o Use takeoff EPR, verify takeoff config warning is not heard
o Once positive rate is established, GEAR set to UP
Initial Climb
Follow the Flight Director bars on the PFD and Thrust Limits on the
EAD
At any time at pilot flying’s discretion, given speed is above FR:
o FLAPS set to UP
At any time at pilot flying’s discretion, given speed is above SR:
o SLATS set to UP
At any time at pilot flying’s discretion:
o To enable the autopilot, select AUTOFLIGHT ENGAGE
After Takeoff
Climb
Lights
o NOSE, LANDING LIGHTS, and LOGO off above 10,000 feet
AGL
o GROUND FLOOD and WING/NACELLE lights off above
18,000 feet MSL
Altimeters set to standard above transition altitude (29.92 Hg or 1013
hPa)
o Cross-check altimeters (Captain, First Officer, and ISIS)
Auto-Flight must be enabled during RVSM
o RVSM begins at FL290 and ends at FL410
o Note: Flight mode's FMS SPD and NAV use CDU input data for
automatic flight.
o To enable the autopilot, select AUTOFLIGHT ENGAGE
Auto Flight
To set the new speed in the FCP altitude Box, Right click
to pull the AFS ALTITUDE KNOB
You can switch between feet and meters by selecting
ALTITUDE MODE
o Vertical Speed Mode:
Vertical speed mode climbs or descends to an altitude at
a given rate of feet per minute.
Set the altitude by twisting the AFS ALTITUDE KNOB and
pulling the knob (right clicking) to enable altitude hold
mode.
To set V/S Mode, twist the AFS VS KNOB to the desired
climb or descent rate.
o Flight Path Angle Mode (FPA):
Flight path angle mode climbs or descends to an altitude
at a given flight angle.
To enter this mode, click AFS VS MODE.
Set the altitude by twisting the AFS ALTITUDE KNOB and
pulling the knob (right clicking) to enable altitude hold
mode.
To set FPA Mode, twist the AFS VS KNOB to the desired
climb or descent angle.
Cruise
If you have fuel in your center tanks, “SEL CTR PUMPS OFF” may
display on the EAD once you have exhausted fuel in the center tanks.
Monitor systems and verify no abnormal conditions arise.

After Landing
Airfoil
o SET SPOILERS to RETRACTED
o SET FLAPS to UP/RET
Verify WX MODE is set to OFF
Set TCAS MODE to ALT ON
Start the APU as needed:
o APU MASTER to START then to ON
o Wait until the annunciator above APU GEN illuminates to ON
and set APU GEN to ON
o Two minutes after APU has started set APU AIR to ON
Lights
o Set OFF:
LANDING LIGHTS
HIGH INTENSITY LIGHT
o Set:
NOSE LIGHTS to TAXI
o Set ON:
LEFT GROUND FLOOD LIGHT
RIGHT GROUND FLOOD LIGHT
