Introduction to Project

Name: - JEWELLARY SHOP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The Jewellary shop activities are managed by software, which is developed in FoxPro and
provides utilities such as follows:

1. Master.

2. Billing.

3. Reports.

4. Accounting.
5. Quotation.

6. Address Book.

7. System Info.

 Above named project is going to be made in V.B. as front-end and Oracle as back-
end offering utilities such as above.
With a better graphical user interface.

 Project is providing facilities about billing and accounting.

 Project also provides facilities like supplier details, customer details, stock
information, purchase information, sales information.

Scope of Work

This system handles Jewellary details , customer details , payment


details , bill details etc.

In all parts mentioned above , records can be added , modified and


deleted. A list of records can also be viewed to get the general overview of the
database.

Maintaining the detailed information regarding Jewellary, customer,


payment, payment due etc.

Receipt file generates information regarding receipts on payment of


bill to customer.

Generating accurate and timely reports such as daily purchase of


Jewellary, total payment, customer details etc.
PROPOSED SYSTEM

1) To design and develop a user friendly, easy to use and efficient


system.

2) To reduce data redundancy and inconsistency.

3) To reduce manual handling and minimize the errors.

4) To provide security and safety to the database.

5) To support management in decision making.

6) To gain accuracy and fast retrieval of data.

7) To maintain historical data.

8) Proposed system is menu driven.

9) Proposed generate payments received information.

Existing System and Need for the System

Existing System

The existing system is a FoxPro base system that uses DBASE as its back-end tool.
The new system is going to be developed using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 as the
front end due to its capability to provide an excellent GUI and Access 03 as back-end
due to its capability to provide excellent security features.

System Requirement
1. Requirement of windows platform.
2. Front end VB, Back end MS Access.
3. Minimum RAM requirement 256MB.
4. Minimum hardware requirement 512MB.
