Teaching Arts in Elementary Grades

 As a future art teacher, I will consider the different kind of interests of my students, the
different learning styles and different personality of my students. I will use this knowledge to
keep them be interactive and focused in my art class. Classroom rules is one of the first things
my students should know and learn. Classroom rules will be a tool in having my students to be
well mannered and respectful in my class. Also, letting them know the classroom rules will help
them know what the art class is all about. They will know why they are instructed to this and
that and why is it important in their lives. Most of the teachers are having difficulty in making
the students to adhere the classroom rules. Students have their own capacity in understanding
things most specially, the elementary students. They are yet to really understand the different
kind of things and starting with the classroom rules is not bad. In my art class, I would let my
students to memorize the classroom rules that I had set so they will become familiar and later
on will be able to remember the rules every time we have classes. I made my classroom rules as
clear and short as possible so my students can easily memorize them by heart. I did put a
cartoon characters of students so they will get interested in looking and memorizing the
classroom rules.
