INTRODUCTION
 First show was on July 7, 1896.
 Cinema is reflection of our
society which reflects our past,
present & future.
 It’s a powerful vehicle for
education, culture & publicity.
 The prior of a movie is to first
delight the audience & then to
instruct.
CINEMA AS MEDIUM OF
SOCIAL AWARENESS
 Movies are considered to be one of the most popular medium of
mass communication in world which is equally effective in every
part of society.
 It is reachable to all parts of society such as people of small
village, town & metro city in every language.
 Movie has a big number of audience, so it can easily spread
awareness among people about human rights, pollution &
education.
IMPACT OF CINEMA

 According to survey 54.5% people like to watch cinema


sometimes, while 36.4% like to watch it very often whereas only
9.1% watch it rarely. This means everyone likes to watch cinema.

 There is no one who isn’t affected by cinema. So, it’s a very


effective medium.

 63.2% people agree that cinema is responsible for increasing


crimes, vulgarity & ignorance to a certain extent.

 Movies can sometimes show the wrong way to deal with


problems

 Violent behavior & killing action.

 Not much about real life facts but a few exceptions.

 People may find it as a wastage of time & money.

 Movies based on terrorism which leads youths mind to


dangerous ways.

 In 1957, ‘Mother India’ on women’s condition.
 In 1974, ‘Ankur’ on caste system of our society.
 In 2001, ‘Nayak’ on corruption.
 In 2004, ‘Swadesh’ on child labor & child marriage.
 In 2006, ‘Rang de Basanti’ on farmers suicide.
 In 2014, ‘Jai Ho’ on helping others in need.
CONCLUSION

 Movies can open the eyes to what’s out there for us & show
us what problems are happening in our world.

 Cinema can build up a society imagination because it takes


them to another place where they have never been before.
