We are looking for an experienced Agile Scrum Master with a strong technical background

automated testing and continuous integration. We are looking for someone who has
implemented Scrum thoroughly – beyond mere ceremonial adoption – where Velocity is
measured and can be used for both Sprint and Release planning. You will earn the trust of
both product management and engineering, continually monitor story progress, unblock
issues as necessary, communicate real­time progress to the organization, and ensure
efficiency. You are independent, organized, thrive in fast­growing startup environments, and
like to be the "connector" in the office.

Responsibilities:

Act as a dedicated Scrum Master for up to two Scrum teams with a focus on guiding
the teams towards improving the way they work to deliver Sprint commitments
consistently
Assist product owners with whom you work in keeping their product backlogs
groomed
Facilitate Story Time and Scoring meetings so that Stories are scored consistently,
subsequent Sprint Planning meetings run smoothly and Sprint Velocity can be
measured
Facilitate Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective meetings
Drive the continued improvement of the Definition of Ready and the Definition of
Done for your teams, leveraging best practices for the relevant technical discipline so
that they become truly high performance Scrum teams
Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal
Maintain relevant metrics that help your Scrum teams see how they are progressing
Liaise between the different technical disciplines within Software Development, Test
Automation and Technical Operations and foster better communication between these
disciplines

Coach and mentor other Scrum Masters in our product development organization;
ensure that our ways of working are consistent across the teams
Take responsibility for managing dependencies between your Scrum teams and other
Scrum teams, especially as the engineering organization grows
Always maintain the “level head” but raise energy and motivate team members as
necessary to meet their Sprint commitments

You Have: 

Previous experience as a software developer
At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master in a product development
organization releasing production software to users
Strong understanding of agile software development using Scrum and commitment to
Scrum best practices
Strong understanding of how software projects that span multiple Sprints are estimated,
tracked, and measured using Story Points and Velocity
An innate, heightened urgency to complete projects on time and with high quality
Previous experience using JIRA Agile with your Scrum teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to deliver effective
presentations
Experience providing project status reports to non­technical managers
Ability to drive projects with dependencies that cross Scrum teams and technical
specialties such as application development, systems administration, database
management and business operations
Ability to self­serve doing database queries is a plus
Able to explain why Gantt Charts are unpleasant, yet sometimes useful
Extremely organized and able to juggle multiple projects, teams, issues, needs,
blockers, and more
Prior experience and demonstrated success as a Scrum Master at small, fast­growing
startups
Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner strongly preferred
BS/MS in a technical, business or design field
