EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The main objective behind this survey was to ensure that the small community library was
under proper funding to withhold the increasing number of visitors each other and have a
proper management to have a stable administration.

The community library was built on a small fund, but as time went by the number of visitors
increased and as a result every year new books were brought in to meet the customer
requirements. Later, the concept of e-books was introduced which was meeting the financial
requirements of certain readers.

As the communities of readers grew, it got more difficult to regulate the purchase &
exchanges that went on. To control the increasing conduct, a grant proposal was presented –
that put emphasis for hiring a librarian to put the governance into a particular direction and at
the same time increase the subsequent books brought in every year.

For this, a data was collected through the years that focused on the increment of number of
purchased and borrowed books, and also put light on the demand of online books rather than
the traditional books.it also told us about the growth in number of patrons visiting the library
each year.
Objectives

The approved grant money would be used to-

1. Hire employees for library
A receptionist to keep track of the books being purchased or issued for borrowing (with the
details like time, date and personal details of the patron)
A librarian to keep track of the sequence of books and their location information.
A helper, to keep the books in the right place and help with the frequent cleaning of the
library.
2. To buy more books of various kinds
Increment of online books, since they’re easily accessible and updated versions of traditional
books.

The main objective was to bring about a better environment and better facilities for the
readers and help drawing a bigger community circle.
Methodology and data analysis
The data was collected through the course of years, ranging from 2000 to 2017, that showed
the change in priorities from traditional book keeping to online books. That picturized an ease
in accessibility.

DATA ANALYSIS
1. Representation of traditional books v/s online books borrowed through the years.
During the 2000s, there was an increased demand of the traditional books. Since it was just
the inception of online culture. But as the years went by, there was a sharp transition from the
traditional books to online book keeping culture because these were easily accessible and had
a trouble-free handling.

2. Number of people visiting the library in the consecutive years.

The number of avid readers kept on increasing slowing as time went by. This could be due to
different factors- being unaware of the library or the library not having suitable books or lack
of accommodation facilities etc.
New tiles purchased every year
Given by the data, there was a hike in the 2000s in the purchase of new books which later
declined in 2008 and kept in decreasing till 2011. After 2011, another growth was seen in the
purchase of tiles that increased gradually till the 2017.

3. Number of online books borrowed.

During the 2000s, the internet had just started to emerge as a new culture but it was not that
prevalent. During the course of year the number of patrons preferring the online books
increased as the technology boomed due to invention of smartphones and this made the
accessibility of e-books easier.
5 number of traditional books borrowed every year.
The traditional books have maintained their supremacy in the preference of patrons
over the years. There was a slight decline in the 2011 but that picked up pace later
when the books were updated.

Conclusion
The above data showed that the no. of readers and subsequent no. of books increased in
considerable amounts. To ensure of suitable handling of the books and the library, there is a
proposed plan to grant money and that will in turn help in hiring of talented employees for
the well-being of the library.
