Registration requirements and procedures

• Test for COVID-19 must be negative

• Volunteer must be aged between 18 – 60, and in good health
• Volunteer must register with official documents - ID/passport
• Volunteer must be a UAE resident/or possess a valid residence
permit during the trial period
• Assessment of eligibility to participate in the trials
• Volunteer must sign the informed consent form before starting
the trial

You cannot participate in the trial if:

• You are pregnant

• You have been infected with COVID-19
• Have a history of SARS, MERS infection
• Had fever, dry cough, fatigue, nasal obstruction or runny nose
within 14 days before vaccination
• Have known allergic reactions to medicines
• Have a personal or family history of convulsion or epilepsy
• Have diabetes, uncontrollable diabetes, any acute or chronic
disease conditions like asthma, severe cardiovascular diseases,
liver and kidney diseases, and malignant tumors
• Currently receiving any immunotherapy

Inspired by the UAE Leadership’s vision and commitment to
overcome the pandemic through a global collaborative
eort, a clinical cooperation agreement was signed
between the Chinese pharmaceutical giant Sinopharm
(CNBG) and G42 Healthcare, a subsidiary of Abu
Dhabi-based technology company Group 42 (G42).
G42 Healthcare will lead the Phase III clinical trial of
COVID-19 inactivated vaccine in the UAE, engaging up to
15,000 volunteers. The trials are developed in coordination
with Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA), under the
administration of UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention
(MOHAP) and the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are there related risks?
Some common reactions may occur when receiving this
vaccine, including mild pain, redness, induration, and
pruritus at the vaccination site.
The volunteer may present mild systemic reactions such as
fever, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cough,
allergy, muscle pain, arthralgia, lethargy, etc.
Usually these symptoms are mild and subside on their own.
Patients with moderate to severe symptoms will be treated
under the supervision of their treating physician and site
principal investigator.
Who do I call if I experience any symptoms?
Any symptom should be reported to the site principal
investigator within 24 hours by visiting the healthcare clinic
or calling on customer care at 02-8191112
Do you have a Recognition Program for volunteers?
Your contribution to this scientific study will help fight and
prevent the COVID-19 pandemic and save precious human
lives all around the world.
As a small token of appreciation for taking part in this trial,
you will receive 1000 AED worth of vouchers and other
giveaways throughout the program.

How long will I be required to participate in the
study?
The duration of physical participation is approximately 2
months and the follow-up period might last up to 12
months.
Will my data privacy be respected?
The data of participants will be kept confidential at the
healthcare facility and identification and personal details
will not be shared with any entities.
The results of this study may be published in scientific
journals, but no personal identity information is included.
Can I withdraw in the middle of a research study?
You are free to opt out at any time. Whatever your
decision, you will not bear any responsibility arising
from the withdrawal.
This will not affect you personally in any shape or form and
will not affect any existing medical treatment that you are
undergoing.
