ACTIVITY 2: Convert the following sentences to mathematical equations.

Write your
answers on the spaces provided.

1. The sum of five and twice a number is eleven. 2x + 5 = 11

2. The product of three and a number is negative twenty-one. (3)(X) = -21

3. The ratio of number and eighteen is two-thirds. X/18 = 2/3

4. Four times the difference of eight and a number is the same as 4(X - 8 ) = 120/12
