1. How significant is the saying “Ignorance of the Law excuses no one” to a common
Filipino citizen? Explain.

As a citizen of a Philippines you should be able to know the laws and policies of
the country, it’s a basic obligation of being a Filipino citizen. The saying trying to prove
that each of Filipino must be aware of the law of the Philippines enable to be a law-
abiding citizen and a civilize person. Whatever gender, age (as long as 18 above),
occupation, or social status you are, it is a responsibility as a Filipino to know the policies
and laws in every place of the country. The Philippine government and authorities don’t
tolerate the criminality and wrong behavior of the Filipino citizen as well as the Foreign
people.

2. Does the Machiavellian Principle still apply in today’s politics? Elaborate your answer.

Machiavellian principle the saying “the end justifies the means” still existing in
today’s politics. There is a lot of reasons about modern politics using the Machiavellian
principle in governing the state and the nation. These are the reasons, government want to
achieve a highly industrialize country that the land for agriculture will turn into a
commercial building; government want to have low crime rate and they’ll do an
extrajudicial killing for the people who do criminality; and government want to have a
good systematic infrastructure then they would demolish the informal settlers home
enable to transform it as a good housing. Like for example Pres. Duterte allowed a
Chinese corporation to build a new dam called Kiliwa Dam that needs a wide land.
President Duterte decides to locate the project at the Sierra Madre but the there’s an
indigenous community who lives there and the land serves as their agricultural land.

3. Why is it important to compare governments of different countries and its relation to the
Philippine government? Explain.

Government of each countries of the world have a different laws and

administration, it is good way that every government will compare to other countries
political strategy. There is the possibility that the other countries government strategy
could help the Philippine government to solve a certain problem or crisis. Let’s say for
example the Bhutan strategy in terms of health care system is a good quality and cheap
that every Filipino citizen could afford it. The Bhutan gov’t strategy would be a big help
for the government strategy in terms of health care system of the Philippines. Therefore,
enable to have excellent service and a good quality socio-economic system, each nation
must help each other in every way to create healthy and productive diversity.

4. Amongst the 3 Issues, which is the 2 most needed by a Leader and explain why do think
the other one is not needed. Elaborate your answer and show examples.
For my point of view among the 3 issues of leader, the legitimacy and sovereignty
are the most needed for governing the state. It’s because as a leader you must have
legitimacy, you’re not just there for no reason and for validity that your constituents
voted you to serve the country. A sovereignty symbolizes eagerness and resilient for the
country and the people you are serving, also the improvement and to have a systematic
administration. The authority is not so important to be a leader, because if you have a
legitimacy you are be known as a recognized leader, another reason authority sometimes
perceived as manipulation for example you are good looking government official the
people basis to follow the policies is your physical appearance while the legitimacy and
sovereignty are the formal and most acknowledged issues to be a good leader.
