1. To build strong partnerships and forge camaraderie among the University’s diverse schools to evolve into a
stronger institution.
2. To feature the talents of students in dance in a friendly and fun-filled way virtually.
3. To give inspiration to each other through dance on this new normal.

ELIGIBILITY & OTHER RULES:

 The contest is open to all bona fide University of Baguio students from Junior High School to Graduate School
who are officially enrolled for the 2nd semester SY 2020-2021.
 Students MAY join multiple categories.
 Current Performing Arts (UB Graces Dance Troupe, UB Voices Chorale, UB Chamber Orchestra, UBBUK and UB
Plug & Play Band) members are NOT allowed to join in any category, but they are part of the presentations.
 Complete and final lists of participants and entries from respective schools should be submitted on or before
March 25,2021 (Thursday) through email osa@e.ubaguio.edu at 3:00 PM. Late submission will be accepted
until 12 midnight but shall warrant to one (1) point deduction per judge.

PROTESTS, PENALTIES AND OTHERS:

1. The decisions of the judges are final and irrevocable. Contestants shall not contact in any way or manner any of the
judges in connection with ratings or critiques.
2. Protests regarding any violation rules, regulations and other matters regarding the conduct of the Dance Festival
MUST BE IN WRITING and done before and during each event. PROTESTS WILL NOT BE ADDRESSED AFTER EACH EVENT
CONCLUDED.
3. Protests may be filed by any representative from the concerned school.
4. Any protests made shall be decided upon by a committee composed of OSA associates and event judges and shall be
deemed final and irrevocable.
5. Explicit lyrics, routines that are seductive and suggestive material in individual or group performances are not
allowed. In cases where song lyrics contain explicit words, kindly interchange explicit words with more decent terms,
bip the terms or omit explicit words altogether. It is expected that all entries should be appropriate for family viewing.
*Failure to comply shall warrant five (5) points deduction per explicit word, per judge, per category.
6. All entries will be posted on OSA FB page on March 29,2021 (Monday).
7. The entry with most FB reactions will win a special award.
8. The entry with the best video editing will win a special award.
9. Special Awards will not have a bearing on the criteria of judging.
10. Submission of entries gives full authority to the University to be published on the official social media pages.

SOLO DANCE CATEGORY GUIDELINE

 There shall only be a maximum of two (2) entries per school.
 All participants are required to dance to any song, medley and remixes are allowed.
 All participants may dance to any genre
 Each submitted piece should not be more than three (3) minutes.
Participants who exceed the allotted time shall be deducted one (1) point per judge.
 Students are not allowed to record their entries in the University premises. Rehearsal and recordings should be
done virtually.

Interpretation 20 pts.
Costumes & Props 10 pts.
Overall Performance (Manner of delivery) 20 pts.
TOTAL 100 pts.

 Each group shall have a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of six (6) members. A one (1) point deduction per
judge will be applied if the group will not be able to conform to the minimum/maximum number of members.
 Each submitted piece should not be more than five (5) minutes.
Participants who exceed the allotted time shall be deducted one (1) point per judge.
 Students are not allowed to record their entries in the University premises. Rehearsal and recordings should be
done virtually.
 If there’s a need to practice together, distancing and health protocols should be observed and must not be
within the university premises.

Originality & Creativity (Style, Rendition) 25 pts.
Coordination and Precision 20 pts.
Costumes & Props 10 pts.
