This week was my second week working at the Women’s Center and LGBTQ+
Programs. This week was definitely still an adjustment period as far as getting accustomed to
working there. I was entirely virtual this week again because we were still receiving our
schedules of when we are to come into the office versus when we are working remotely.
Because we were working remotely this week, the workload still felt somewhat like that
of a typical student. My primary assignment this week was to complete more readings. This
week the readings were centered around the topic of feminism though, which makes me even
more excited to be working with the Women’s Center. Feminism is something I am very
passionate as it’s primary goal is intersectional equality so I was excited to get to further my
Another thing that I was quite excited about was finally getting assigned to my groups as
far as what projects I will be working on for the semester. This semester I will be working to
bring awareness to sexual assault awareness month as well as inclusive sex education and sexual
health promotion, which is right up my alley. I had my first staff meeting on Tuesday, my first
O3 (one-on-one) meeting with my supervisor (Jessica Graham), and my first meeting with my
work team to get acquainted with one another and talk about what inclusive sexual education
means to us. Truthfully, I enjoyed all these meetings. I like that each week we will have an
opportunity for a one-on-one with Jenn to talk about how things are going with our projects or
any concerns or questions to discuss with her. The meeting I most enjoyed this week was my
meeting with my team for the inclusive sex education project. We all seemed to click really well
and all of us had some ideas to pitch for a potential goal we want to strive for with this project.
As I’ve mentioned before, sex education is something I feel very passionate about so getting to
start working with my group and share ideas was the highlight of my week.

*I talked with Jenn about whether or not I could include some hours I had not counted last week
because they were after the typical 9-4 hours of the Women’s Center. I also explained to her why
I didn’t include those initially. It was a personal matter and I thought I should not count them
since it wasn’t the amount of work, but rather me adjusting to new ADD medication and
affecting my work pace. She told me to go back and count them because I was doing work for
