Bio- North Carolinians Against Gun Violence is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Durham, North
Carolina. Our mission is simple: Gun violence is a national epidemic. It claims the lives of our children,
parents, and neighbors at such a rate that a child is killed by a firearm every week, often in the child's own
home. We work to make North Carolina safe from gun violence through the education of the public,
enforcement of current gun laws, and the enactment of needed new ones. Our 501(c)(4) Action Fund
pursues a similar goal via grassroots lobbying, whilst also supporting legislative candidates who
represent our interests.

Our internal goal is to reach anyone for whom gun violence is important. We want to engage North
Carolina residents in our work and mobilize them to take action. Our supporters educate families,
businesses, neighbors, and friends concerning gun safety and gun violence statistics. We support laws
that ban assault weapons and require background checks on all purchases. We oppose laws that allow
guns on school grounds, restaurants, bars, and playgrounds, and make it easier for juveniles, criminals
and the adjudicated mentally ill to purchase guns. We side with saving lives, using the authority of
knowledge as our pillar.

However you would like to help, your help makes a difference. We recognize that it is our responsibility as
a community to prevent senseless deaths and the stripping of human life through firearms.
