learning activity will be. What will
the students and the teacher be
together into groups of 3-4, and position them around

doing with the technology).
the smart board. I would then hand out worksheets to
each individual student to fill out to help them follow
along. The worksheet would resemble the slides that
would be presented and would be collected as an exit
ticket, and then given back to the students the next class
period. The presentation will follow a lesson activity
called “The food Pyramid”
 The first slide provides a picture example of what the
food pyramid is and some examples of each of the
groups. I would explain the benefits of having a healthy
balanced diet, and then talk about the different groups:
being grain, fruit, vegetables, protein, dairy, and the last
being oils, fats, and sweets.
 The second slide and first activity explain the number of
servings for grains a person should be eating a day and
asks students to circle all that are a part of the grain
group. I would have one student from each group come
up and circle one of the correct items on the smart
board and then have them circle the correct answers on
their worksheets as well.
 The next slide has a bunch of fruits and vegetables at
the bottom and asks students to drag each example into
its proper category. I would have a different student
from each group come up and drag the fruit or
vegetable into its respective category. Once all of the
items are sorted, I would allow time for the students to
write the names of each into the correct category on
their worksheet.
 The fourth slide I would have students from each group
come up to the board and put “X” over the images that
were not proteins. They would do the same on their
worksheets.
 Then on the last slide I would have a member from each
group draw lines from the dairy items to the picture of a
cow in order to help them understand which items are
dairy.
