Methods to introduce in Professional Environment

 Introduction Exercise
How to you introduce yourself?

 Your introduction should tell people who you are and it should encourage people
to engage with you.
 You need to sell yourself and feel confident while doing so because this will put
others at ease.
 When introducing yourself, apart from your name you should consider including:
 your role or title
 your business, trade, or industry
 a brief description of your business
 a 'memory hook' (quick, ear-catching phrase that people are likely to remember)
 a benefit statement of one particular product or service you offer.

applying for academic positions
How to write CV heading ?
 Do not use ‘CV’, ‘Curriculum Vitae’ or ‘Confidential’ as a heading
 Write your name in bold
 Size: 20 points
 Centered on the page
 Should not be in capitals
 Do not write your full birth certificate name
 Do not use nicknames on your CV

 Include information which may be viewed negatively
 Include anything that might discriminate against you
 Include salary information and expectations
 Make your CV more than two pages long
 Dilute your important messages
 Use jargon, acronyms, technical terms

 Include a photo unless requested.

 Consist of summary of one’s education, employment and other skills which


are used in applying for new position
 Focuses more on job profile as compared with educational background
and other skills
 Details are mentioned to the bullets and written in third person language to
make it more formal

 Old Fashioned terminology for CV and Resume which means biographical

 Emphasize on personal details like name, date of birth, gender, marital
status, nationality, color , religion, height weight etc.
 Generally used while applying for a government jobs, research grants and
marriage proposals (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka etc)
