My faith journey has developed a whole lot and it is mostly due to St.Charles.

When I

first enrolled at the school the only sacrament I had received was my baptism. Throughout the

years I acquired not only baptism but eucharist, penance, and I am currently working on my

confirmation. Saint Charles gave me the opportunities to not just grow but learn about my faith

as well as support me about it. Even though I may be difficult about going to classes or to

Church, I truly feel blessed to know God is by my side. At the end of 8th grade rethinking about

retreat and all the assignments, I have seen how much I have developed as a person and in the

Catholic religion. I’ve had all my classmates, teachers, and family's support which has made all

the difference.

Throughout the whole of eighth grade we have been repeatedly challenged and

sometimes it has been hard to keep faith. I wasn’t confiding with God and thought that I

wouldn’t graduate. But in the end, our bond has grown stronger and its all because of those

around me. I saw him in Coach when he asked if I was ok or too stressed, or my friends when

they would check in on me. All those small services really impacted me and made me see that

God is always with me even when I think Hes not.

There have been many instances in my life were my faith is at an all time high. My

favorite is eighth grade retreat, I was able to appreciate and open my eyes to all that he has done

for me. The beauty of the sea, sky, sand, and most importantly those around me. Whilst around

the campfire I saw God in the sunset, it was the most astonishing site i’ve ever seen and felt. I

felt him in the warmth of the flames that were radiating from the pit.

Graduating from St.Charles has been a rough process, between the portfolio and

assignments it’s a lot. Sometimes there were days were I felt like a failure and unworthy, and

thats when I tested my faith. I tested His love for me, but I forgot that God always has a plan. All
the hard work and dedication will eventually pay off. I was repeatedly told this by Coach, my

mom, my dad and I have decided to trust them. I am relying on my trust, and in a way I am

having faith.

My role as a student, child of God, and Catholic is to learn. Whether it’s to learn about

God or math, and maybe even science I yearn to know more. The world is a giant place with

different customs, ideas, and cultures and I want to deeply explore and learn about God’s

wonders. But in the meantime, I can start with small actions like opening a door for someone, or

maybe saying thanks. Just like my peers did to me.
