Read Aloud with Comprehension & Tier 2 Word


- I talked with my student what it feels like to worry. I asked her of
Worrysaurus there were times that she hd worries that prevented her from doing
something.
- I told her that even though it’s a simple story we are still able to pull
out a lesson from what we have read and apply it to our lives.
- I encouraged her to try and do things outside of her comfort zone and
see if she is able to do something that she would normally be afraid of.

Writing

Letter Digraphs (-tch) - My student really enjoyed this lesson. I knew from the start the she
would not struggle with this activity. She showed a good
-We would discuss the sound that the diagraph made understadning of the sound that the word ending made.
-Write down words that ended in -tch. For each word I would - When it was time to come up with words that ended in -tch there were
have her draw a picture to represent the meaning of the word. We times where she struggled coming up with words. I think her biggest
would then use the word in a sentence. problem was thinking of real words and how they applied to her.
-I had my student come up with a total of five words to complete - Overall she showed a good understanding of the activity.

Clue Jr. - Through questioning I was abke to tell if she had an understanding of
the reaidng.
-I had my student read a chapter if the story Clue jr. Each chapter - She showed thinking skillls as she came up with a guess to the answer
has a different mystery that needs to be solved. This weeks of the mystery.
chapter was “The Case of the Myterious Letter”. - She stated that she really liked this story and wanted to read more next
