Abstract
An abstract is a short summary of a large work. It concisely reports the aims of the research
paper and the results so that readers can understand what the research paper is about.
(McCombes,2019). What makes a good abstract? A good abstract should be one or more
concise paragraphs usually 150-300 words but there is often a strict limit of words always check
the requirements, state the research question and aims – start by defining the purpose of the
research, give a brief description of the methodology – state the method used to answer the
research questions, summarize the most significant findings or the arguments – give a strong
overview of the main results of the research, finally state the conclusion – make the
readers understand the central point that the research has proven or argued. If the research aims
to solve a practical problem, the conclusion may include recommendations that should be
implemented and if relevant the suggestions for further research. (McCombes,2019). The
abstract does not add any new information but merely summarizes, it is an original document and
it contains keywords found in the work but it is not a review nor does it evaluate the work that is
