SUBJECT: PROPOSAL FOR 5G CONNECTION THROUGH VERIZON

DATE: April 20, 2021

CC: MRS.MCDONALD

Purpose

The purpose of this proposal is to request authorization to research and test out 5G service in
order to determine if this will bring more revenue to the company by increasing the amount of
nodes placed in certain areas in the United States.

Introduction
Currently, Official Future services makes, owns, and operates 5G networking for 5G
phones and cell towers. Recently our 5G nodes usage and efficiency rates have slowly decreased,
causing a big problem for O.F services. A big issue is that not many people own 5G cell phones
due to high prices and the inconveniences of standing next to a 5G tower for it to work properly.

Cellphones and technology are the way of the world now and cellphones are somewhat of
a necessity. It is very important that people are able to access the majority of their devices at all
times and places. The network a person decides on using equates with the type of service they
have. People expect for their company to be the best at giving them the service that they need.
Technology is more than someone's personal device and it has a direct effect on the whole
world.

5g is the fifth-generation technology standard for broadband cellular networks which

started being used by cell phone companies in 2019. 5G is the new and exciting technology that

1
the world is counting on. 5G follows after 4G and its technology is an improvement of the 4G
network. 5G is faster and more efficient and we want to figure out if adding 5G to our company
will be the best strategy or not. We want to research this because it seems as though 5G would be
the perfect addition to our company and we would like to prove if that is fact or foe. If proven to
be true we would like to begin the proper steps to add this network to our company.

5G has been said to change the world. It is supposed to take away any connectivity
problems. We would like to research and test this theory out and if it comes back to be true, we
would like to add it to the company and put up our own 5G towers. 5G is supposed to give
people faster data speeds, low latency communications, and higher data caps. 5G is expected to
bring in 10 trillion dollars in revenue. This network could become essential for businesses to
prosper and bring about entirely new industries. 5G is the start of a new era and will inspire a
new technological revolution.
We are requesting authorization to thoroughly research this new piece of technology and
we propose a test of adding it to our company. Our research would include completely
understanding what 5G is and how it works. We would like to conduct tests to see how this will
be able to benefit our company.

Proposed tasks
With Mr. Vestburg’s approval we would like to complete the following task to help determine
how to test and bring some more income to Verizon networks.

Task 1: Contact Erisson about their thoughts on 5G nodes

By contacting companies that are leading businesses of 5g and how it works we will obtain a
better understanding of how this project is going to benefit and expand our services. The leading
business consulting firm, Frost & Sullivan can give a good insight as to how to get these 5G
nodes out there to test them out. 5G communications services can help our research in a similar
way by answering Official Future’s questions about where the nodes are most requested to be
located at, how much they spend producing them, and have they been successful with making a
node in the past. Contacting these services for the 5G nodes will be more challenging for they are
only located in discrete places around specific cities. There are a lot of questions Official Future
(O.F) has for the 5G services. A few questions are how the installation of the 5G nodes will
improve 5G phone sales, how many services can the nodes be connected to at once, how will
customers be charged using all that data, etc.

Task 2: Survey service provider employees on their thoughts regarding increasing the
amount of 5G nodes
One of our biggest priorities is making sure our employees are safe, happy and compensated for
their labor. In order to achieve this, we will interview a wide variety of provider employees
including but not limited to: AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro, etc. These surveys will include questions
concerning their knowledge of the fifth-generation network included in our proposal, average
wage they receive in their field, their experience with communication devices, pros and cons
they have seen come from 5G towers and completing it and how O.F services can make our
future employees experience exceptional employment.

2
Task 3: interview citizens, if the increase in 5G nodes would increase their chances of
buying a 5g phone using Verizon’s 5G network
Official Future services will be asking citizens that use everyday technology to watch YouTube
videos, scrolling through Tik Tok, or downloading Netflix shows. We want the input of the
people that will use our 5g services every day. To better have an idea and implement the best
service for the people to use.
Task 4: understand how the 5G nodes will work
In order to fully and develop our 5G towers, we must be well prepared. O.F services will do
research on how correctly implement these nodes and ideas for the best production and safety for
all. We will contact others or any companies that are also planning their future using 5G network
speed to have their input and ideas on this task.

Task 5: Determine what materials, technology and the budget needed to accomplish
In order to understand how these nodes will work, we will need to research a current 5G tower
already built located in providence, Rhode Island. We have begun our research, but more tasks
are left to be completed. This is just one of many places where a 5G tower stands, in a state
where they are testing out 5G networks in everyday life. A small to average 5G cell site costs
$30,000-$50,000. It would in theory get more people to switch over to 5G cell phones which
result into high-speed internet for the majority which can lead to many other future possibilities.
It can work with only 5G cell phones, but companies need to agree and implement the
technology to their networks, so it becomes a success. It is a 5G cell phone connected to a 5G
tower using a 5G networking service. It only gives the best results when standing right next to
the tower with ideal weather conditions for the speed to work effectively. To understand this
further we will see what materials we need in order to get this done and what type of engineering
and infrastructure is needed as well. This will let us know how much money we can bring to the
company, what people we need, and how this will help O.F services grow.

Task 6: Determine what location would be best suited to start testing

In places where there is not much need for 5G towers are places that use less technology such as
the countryside where there are only a few towers. In the suburbs and the city is where most
people are connected to and familiar with the speed of networks. Where there are many people
walking around being connected to the same network, full of buildings, coffee shops etc. since
there is already progress being done in Rhode Island with 5G nodes, Rhode Island would be the
best contestant for our 5G experiment. We can install the 5G towers all around Rhode Island in
an area with more people and more Wi-Fi connectivity, but we also need to take into
consideration, if we can build around a certain area. There are places around the United states
where this could be possible also, such as Texas or New York, but since there is already progress
in Rhode Island we wouldn't have to start from scratch. We need to do further research on where
in Rhode Island, the 5g towers would work best taking into consideration the area, population,4G
cells that are often used today, cost of the land, and some other factors as well.

Experience Official Future services qualification:

We all have 4G now. We as a society function and rely on 4G networks, but Official Future has
taken it to the next level. Company Ericsson,5G network business leader, is interested in solving
problems regarding network speed. In addition, transferring wavelengths to our phones
effectively and in the most productive way possible. Omari Fullerton thinks that trying to
implement 5G nodes in certain areas is a good start. Felecia Jackson is interested in meeting the
difficult challenges that stretch over policy, physics, and technology, in order to execute the plan.
In the future We both hope to work on more advanced technology such as, virtual reality
streaming, and networks of autonomous cars that are all connected and communicating with one
another, and even thinking about remote surgery with a 5G connected robot arm and doctor miles
away helping do a surgery. As of now O.F would like to focus more on getting the 5G to work
well enough to end YouTube buffering no matter how far or close you are to a 5G tower. Official
future services would like to help with increasing the speed of the network and the speed of the

4
world. Official Future services recognizes 5G nodes, 5g phones, and 5g networks as an ideal
place to start since our 4G network is at its highest ability and now we want to make it our duty
to give the people no more buffering YouTube videos.
