refrigerator with two self-drilling screws
(provided).
7) Squeeze together and slide the tube clamp over
the fill tube. While still squeezing the clamp,
insert one end of the plastic tube into the fill tube
as far as it will go, then slide the clamp downward
to capture the fill tube in place.

household cleaner, ammonia, or alcohol before
applying the clamps.
18) Secure the plastic water supply tubing to the back
of the cabinet with two plastic clamps.

Disassembly and installation of water system

Before you begin, please note:
 This water line installation is not warranted by the refrigerator or ice maker manufacturer.
 Follow these instructions carefully to minimize the risk of water damage.
 Water hammer (water banging in the pipe) in house plumbing can cause damage to refrigerator parts and
lead to water leakage or flooding. Call a qualified plumber to correct water hammer before installing the
water supply line to the refrigerator.
 To prevent burns and product damage, do not hook up the water line to the hot water line.
 If you use your refrigerator before connecting the water line, make sure the ice maker wire signal arm is in
the OFF position.
 Do not install the ice maker tubing in areas where temperature falls below freezing.
 When using any electrical devices (such as power drill) during installation, be sure the device is double
insulated or grounded in a manner to prevent the hazard of electric shock, or is battery powered.
 All installations must be in accordance with local plumbing code requirements.
1) Disconnect the refrigerator from the electric wall /
outlet.
2) Remove the parts in the water line kit that you
purchased for this purpose.
3) Connect the end of the water supply line to the
household cold water line behind the refrigerator.
Choose a location for the valve that is easy to
access. We recommend that you connect it to the
side of a vertical water pipe. If it is necessary to
connect it to a horizontal water pipe, make the
connection to the top or side, rather than at the
bottom, to avoiding drawing off any sediment
from the water pipe.
4) Make sure that the household water supply is /
turned off, then drill a ¼” hole in the water pipe
(even if using a self-piercing valve), using a sharp
bit. Remove any burrs resulting from drilling the
hole. Take care not to allow water to drain into
the drill. Failure to drill a ¼” hole may result in
reduced ice production or smaller cubes.

33 / 52
Service Manual, 2016-12
5) Fasten the shutoff valve to the cold water pipe
with the pipe clamp, then tighten the pipe clamp
screws until the sealing washer begin to swell. Do
not over-tighten or you may crush the tubing.
6) Route the tubing through a hole drilled in the wall /
or floor (behind the refrigerator or adjacent base
cabinet) as close to the wall as possible.
7) Connect the tubing to the valve by placing the
compression nut and ferrules (sleeves) for copper
tubing onto to the end of the tubing and connect it
to the shutoff valve. Make sure the tubing is fully
inserted into the valve.
8) Tighten the compression nut securely. For plastic
tubing, insert the molded end of the tubing into
the valve and tighten compression nut until it is
hand-tight, then tighten one additional turn with a
wrench. Over-tightening may cause leaks.
9) Place the end of the water supply line into a sink
or bucket and flush the water supply line with
water until the water runs clear.
10) Unscrew the plastic cap from the water inlet valve
and discard it.

11) Slide a brass compression nut, then a ferrule

(sleeve), onto the water supply line.
12) Push the end of the tubing into the water inlet
valve as far as it will go or -inch, then slide the
ferrule (sleeve) into the valve inlet and finger
tighten the compression nut onto the valve.
Tighten another half turn with a wrench. DO NOT
overtighten.
13) Secure the water supply line to the back panel of /
your refrigerator with a steel clamp and screw at
the location shown on the illustration.
14) Coil the excess water supply line (about 2- turns)
behind the refrigerator and arrange the coils so
they do not vibrate or wear against any other

34 / 52
Service Manual, 2016-12
surface.
15) Turn on the water supply at the shutoff valve and
tighten any connections that leak.
16) Reconnect the refrigerator to the electric wall
outlet.
17) To turn on the ice maker, lower the wire signal
arm.

9.6Defrosting function

1) Defrost the freezing chamber as per the accumulative operation time of the Compressor
2) If power failure occurs abruptly to the Compressor and the defrosting sensor in freezing chamber is less
than 0°C after powering on, then first conduct defrosting once. If more than 0°C, then defrosting is not
needed.
3) After that, conduct defrosting according to using condition and ambient temperature in a period
between 6 and 24 hours as per the accumulative operation time of the Compressor.

9.8Self-diagnosis

 Conditions for entering into this mode

When the power is on for the first time, here is no sensor failure and the defrost sensor temperature
is equal to or more than 0°C.
 Self-diagnosis process

1. Defrost heater is on for 2 seconds and off for 2 seconds;

2. The fan is on for 10 seconds and off for 2 seconds;

3. The refrigerator is refrigerating for 20 minutes. (The compressor fans are all on)
 Exit out of self-diagnosis

1. Stop self-diagnosing and turn into normal mode;

2. Failure occurs to the sensor during self-diagnosis and exit out of self-diagnosis mode;

3. Set forced defrosting function during self-diagnosis.

10.Circuit description

10.1 Power Supply

The AC input power is reduced in voltage by SMPS control chip and filtered off wave by the
inductance-capacitance filter, then output the DC 12V power which will mainly power the relay that
controls strong current. Relay is used to control the strong current loaded switches of compressor, ice
maker and defrost heater. The DC 12V power will output stable 5V electricity after passing through the
adjustor 7805, to power for the main control chip and thus monitor the temperature changes in refrigerator.

10.2Door trip test circuit(None)

10.3Temperature test circuit

It’s conducted by the sensor, making use of the characteristics that resistance value reduces as the
temperature increases, and the thermistor that has temperature coefficient of resistance in medium
temperature.

39 / 52
Service Manual, 2016-12
The characteristic that resistance value reduces as the temperature increases is deemed to have negative
slope or negative temperature coefficient (NTC), and such thermistor is called as NTC thermistor. The
resistance value changes sensitively with temperature and typically changes 7% ~ 3% per degree
centigrade. Sensor used in the refrigerator is NTC thermistor.
There is following computing formula for the sensor:
Sampling voltage / reference voltage = R1 / (RNTC + R1)
AD value / reference AD value = R1 / (RNTC + R1)
The reference voltage is 5V, RNTC is the resistance value of the sensor, R1 is R31\R32\R33 in schematic
diagram that is 5.1K

10.4Fan motor circuit of the freezing chamber

The fan in the freezing chamber is running when the compressor is operating. Check 12V and FAN to see
if there is a voltage of 12V. When in normal operation, the fan is in low level and the voltage between 12V
and FAN is more than 11V. If there’s no voltage when the compressor is in operation, fan motor or electric
control panel can be replaced.
