Lady Susan a novela written by Jane Austen is a story about Lady Susan as the main
because of the death of her husband. Her life full of glamour. While she is still mourning with
her husband’s death,she do not wastime,in spite she is looking for her new husband,Mr
Mainwairing also a new father for her daughter,Frederica that is Sir James.Her horrible
attitude of flirting and seduce a man left the bad rumour about her in Langford.Soon,Lady
Susan must leave to Churchill and then stay with her brother,Mr Charles Vernon and her
sister in law, Mrs. Vernon. She use to write a letter about everything to her bestfriend,Alicia
Johnson eventhough her husband forbid her to become friend with Lady Susan. As soon as
she arrive in Langford where she will stay in her brother’s house,she find a right
husband,Reginald de Courcy. She seduce him with not just beauty,but her intelligence.
The best part from this book is about Lady Susan herself.She is so charming and
exquisite.She can handle the problem in calm way which show of her intelligence.She is not
rely on her beauty in seducing men but more than beauty.This is represent that woman can
control over a man no matter his status. She is dealing her problem by herself which represent
author,Jane Austen also write another novel,Pride and Prejudice.The genre is about romance
Susan,both of them choose very well her love life.They do not just fall in love,but both of
Jane Austen wrote Lady Susan at 1794,but not published until 1871.Her novel like Pride and
Prejudice,Emma,Sense and Sensibility are the best novel she is ever wrote and the novel has
been made into the film.She write the story based on the fact about her social condition in
that era.Eventhough she did not get any award because woman in the era of early 19 th century
were not allowed to sign the legal documents.Her masterpiece is still relevant until its day
