Q.4 a. Derive the expression for the recoil velocity of gun? (6)
b. How much is the force of friction between a wooden block of mass 5 kg and the
horizontal marble floor? The coefficient of friction between wood and the marble
is 0.6. (4)

Q.5 a. What is meant by the resolution of force into its perpendicular component also
derive the expressions. (6)
b. A train staring from rest, accelerates uniformly and attains a velocity 48 kmh-1 in
accelerates and 2 minutes. It travels at this speed for 5 minutes. Finally, moves
with uniform retardation and is stopped after 3 minutes. Find the total distance
travelled by the train. (4)
Q.6 a. What are the conditions for equilibrium. (5)
b. Find the gravitational force of attraction between two spheres each of mass 1000
kg. The distance between the centres of the spheres is 0.5 m. (5)
