Everyone uses the air conditioning unit in their vehicle. People forget how serious it
might be if you have a problem especially while living in a place such as Las vegas. Air
conditioning units have a low pressure side along with a high pressure side which works
together to get you the nice cold air you desire. Figuring out how to identify them can be a pain
and they might even have leaks which used to be bad for the environment, but now is just an
inconvenience to you which is why learning the high and low pressure side is important along
with identifying leaks in your system.

Low pressure side of an air conditioning unit within a vehicle can be found pretty much
anywhere under the hood of the vehicle. Although they are most often found back by the fire
wall. It can also be on or immediately next to the vehicles accumulator if you have an orifice
tube system. A sure way to find the low pressure is to find the compressor which has two lines
coming out of the back of it, a big and small one. Follow the big line, and it will reach the entire
low side of the vehicle's air conditioning unit. The same goes for the high side of the vehicle's air
conditioning unit. Just this time follow the small line that will, in the end, lead you to the high side
of the air conditioning unit.

There is a very old way to detect if you have a refrigerant leak and the method still holds
up today, which is why its being discussed. People call it the bubble method. Get a soapy
solution with a good amount of bubbles and apply it to where you suspect you may have a leak
with a brush and squeeze bottle. Typically, any escaping refrigerant produces bubbles at the
leak points. So your leak will be identified and can be properly dealt with.

In conclusion people need to know about how their air conditioning unit works in their
vehicle or at least how to identify its parts and how to fix its problems. Which side of the unit is
high pressure and low pressure is a real problem because many people struggle distinguishing
between them. Leaks is another big problem because without having a mechanic check out you
suspected leak it can be nearly impossible to find, but learning this information and simple tricks
is extremely helpful. Now you have drive through Las Vegas’s 100 degree weather without a
care in the world.
